  1. Reminds of the time I went into Oakland Gyros in Milwaukee and some joker at the table next to me says "You realize this isn't authentic Greek food, right?" a) yes, Captain Obvious and 2) I really don't care because I'm enjoying myself
  2. Dude, your "take a dump on everything" schtick is already well known and you've only got like 30 posts. Maybe cool your jets a bit?
  3. This is the new "The Brewers have a negative run differential".
  4. I think most everyone with a level head was saying "Wait until this four-game series with the Cubs is over and then see where we are at."
  5. Man the AL race sort of sucks. Really only Oakland and Cleveland battling it out for WC2.
  6. Discuss all other games that impact the Brewers playoff chances here. DBacks @ Mets Cubs @ Padres Cards @ Rockies Braves @ Phillies Nationals @ Twins
  7. Uhh, aside from the most important aspect being talent, scheming is entirely based on trying to disguise what you're intending to do. Nobody is telling 11 guys to go out there and wing it. Scheme can help cover up for talent deficiencies but it works even better when there are good players executing it. Not always. Seattle has a pretty basic defense. They just cover well and rush the QB. There's not a ton of deception. And some teams disguise much better than others.
  8. That 83mph knuckle curve has got to look like a watermelon to these dudes.
  9. Crawling on a fractured kneecap is probably not a good idea. Rolling would be the way to go. Summersaults!
  10. If this dude could just consistently locate his slider...
  11. I am sure the Astros would do the same You know...I really wonder what would happen. You think all 9 guys would stare at a player cripple in pain and win that way? Even though the ball is over the fence and in all reality you lost? What if said player is screeching in pain trying to crawl around the bases inch by inch? I would think you would have to stand there and watch it as leaving the field would be like giving up. How would that be received after the fact whether they made it to home in the end or not? I wonder where the players would draw line line...if at all in such a situation. Normal homer yes...walk off maybe...postseason heck no? Those borderline worthless baseball writers should run with this story and ask some players, let them do so without giving their name for the article. Funny you say that because after I posted what I did I thought "Maybe they actually would do it". I'm sure there's some jack wad team like the Pirates that wouldn't but if he hit a homer to win the Series would they really make him crawl around the bases?
  12. I am sure the Astros would do the same
  13. What if he hit a game-winning HR but was unable to run the bases?
  14. One thing that "worries" me about the defense is that most of Pettine's scheme is based on confusing the opposing QB. You line up one way and he thinks you're doing something but you do something else. This works great on young QBs like Trubisky but will it work against wily veterans? Hopefully the personnel has improved to the point where the confusion is just one part of it and even if the QB isn't confused you have talent to defend.
  15. I wouldn’t say the dynasty is dead because if they get in it will be the 5th straight year they’ve qualified for the post season. However, we can say the success cycle is hard. There are fewer Kris Bryant’s and Javier Baez’s available when your picking 25th overall. A common failure to draft and develop starting pitching leaves them with a 100 million dollar rotation that has been up and down all year long I think they've spent like $38 million on the bullpen too.
  16. Jim Bowden is claiming he doesn't need surgery and he will be out six weeks.
