  1. He pitched four innings yesterday so the earliest he can probably pitch is Friday. If he's replacing another pitcher it makes sense to wait until he can actually be used in a game.
  2. Whoa. They "let" Prince get to free agency because HE decided he wasn't going to sign an extension, but they still made a very significant effort to re-sign then-FA Prince with a near-Brewers-record contract (5 years & into 9 figures -- uncharted FA territory in franchise history up to that time -- only to repeat the effort & fall short the next year w/ Greinke). They made a "significant" offer that, IMO, they knew he'd never take because the market was much greater. They did the same thing with Sabathia. "Well, we tried!" is a good line for the fanbase.
  3. Says guy who complains about lineup order. One line up complaint tonight, how many ump complaints? How many times per game do people whine about the umps? I'm not going to go and count, but it's consistantly a lot, every game thread. I get it, we are all frustrated with how the season has played out. Whatever. I'm just giving you a hard time. Lineup complaints are as old as this site.
  4. Says guy who complains about lineup order.
  5. Sounds like you want Bud Selig again. Ha, at his age, there would definitely be a massive incentive to win the series sooner rather than later. He never really seemed to care about winning after 1992 why would he start now?
  6. Yeah obviously he was putting pressure on them because that's his job but they never refused to readmit him at least publicly. There was a poorly headlined story that gave that impression. I am surprised anyone thought it would take 48 hours to get that squared away after the trial ended. Now if you want to argue that because the lawyer pressured them and they caved that's something else.
  7. Geez, Nats are up 11 - 0 in the 4th. They've scored 41 runs in the last 2.5 games
  8. I'm not sure where you're getting this from.
  9. I am very confident he plays for UW
  10. I think the only question about Kumerow is how much playing time is he gonna get. He's a lock to make the team.
  11. Dude, you need to chill out. You literally said you had super vision (or something to that effect). The fact that you think you "know" more about visual weight loss is astounding. If you can't see how ridiculous that is then I don't know what to tell you. I suggest you drop the topic of conversation particularly since you have no sense of humor at all about it.
  12. Apparently Burks' injury does not require surgery. He's day to day. Great news. Of course this could be the kind of thing that lasts until week 6 but still...beats the whole season.
  13. Brogdon doesn't seem to be having the same luck losing weight.
  14. From today's JSOnline: "But the bulk of LaFleur’s offense is based on the scheme getting receivers open quickly, and getting the ball out faster than Rodgers had the last few years. And that’s been evident in practice watching Rodgers and his backups, DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle." LOVE this. I am really looking forward to watching a quick hitting offense for a change. With Rodgers release this could be really fun. Like 2nd half of last year's first game with the Bears except all season long.
  15. I’d venture to say the chances that happens is lower than 5%. The rotation was the problem this year...it was really bad. We tried to do it internally and the internal options bombed so bad most were sent to AAA at one point. Stearns is going to get one notable addition...at least. If not he should be on the hot seat and get fired if the rotation bombs once again. At some point this is a competing team with high potential. Add to it and overspend a bit if you have to. He shouldn't be and he won't be.
  16. That is exactly what I meant in my previous post about the aesthetic value of baseball not being up to par in the current iteration of the game. Last night's game was an absolute abomination to watch. Agree and I love baseball... more contact, more action on the bases, less down time... the current action reminds me of current pro tennis with too many aces and unforced errors on the baselines. It was much better to watch in the 70s and 80s when the serve didn't dominate and net play was more common. Should go back to wooden rackets! Seriously.
  17. I don't think a degree is needed to make a sitcom or to write a song. I still believe college is pushed way too much especially for things you don't need a degree for. Do you really need to go to school for 4-years to paint a picture? Do you really need to go to school to write a novel? Even going to school for business is iffy to me. A lot of people have been successful and have not gone to college or have dropped out. College has just become way too expensive compared to what you actually get from it. True but it's still a risk to pursue a career in the arts with or without college. That's one of those things you almost have to do when you're in your 20's before you are off the parents insurance and before you get married/have kids. I went back to school in my mid 30's but I was single and only beholden to myself. If you have a family, bills, etc. it can seem impossible. Not always, but I totally get people not being able to do it after a certain point.
  18. Our starters are one of the worst things on that grid and Lyles has been awesome in three starts. I don't know if that continues but he's made the team better since the break.
  19. Lyles ERA when Brewers acquired him: 5.36 Lyles ERA after today's start (his third with Brewers): 4.71
  20. Wonder if they considered walking Kiner Falefa?
  21. Maybe put J'Mon back on the list? Dude is really up and down - awesome or awful.
  22. Payroll limitations are one good reason to be cautious when offering early extensions. You don't want a ton of dollars wrapped up in guys that don't plan out.
  23. Ok, I’ll admit those splits aren’t nearly as pronounced as I thought they’d be. But you don’t have to be a home-run hitter to benefit from a ball that travels farther. He only had 146 ABs last year in AAA (39 games). He also doesn't hit for a lot of power (ISO is 188 this year 178 last year which is good but for a guy hitting 370 with no speed it's kinda low, IMO). But I am willing to give him a shot as a Sept callup for sure. I just wouldn't expect Hiura success.
