  1. So at end of the day, Bucks signed everyone except Mirotic and Brogdon and got a 1st and two 2nd round picks.
  2. I don't think the math quite works out for the Hill deal....must be some corresponding moves (Leuer + ??)
  3. The lesson here is....the off season ain't over till it's over.
  4. Hill back for 3/29
  5. What is a TPE and do the Bucks have one? Also, what is a TPE
  6. I agree it's a bad move(disgrace I withhold for something a bit more serious). But no, you thought he was overrated and you didn't want them to pay the luxury tax 4 years in a row. Again, I wanted to trade him so they could keep everyone else. I didn't advocate trading Brogdon so they could save 10's of millions of dollars, which is what they've done. For god's sake that's exactly what I've openly feared all along. What's so hard to understand about that? I've always advocated for keeping as many of their guys as possible and paying the tax. At mid-season, my first choice was to trade Brogdon so they could keep everyone else. That switched to Khris when it became clear he would get a near-max deal, but the point is that I just want them to keep as many players as possible and not be cheap. And they've been significantly cheaper than even I feared they would be. And my plan to let Khris walk would have had them back under the tax threshold in just one year. You were willing to give him 4/140.
  7. Tobias Harris signs w Philly for 5 years and $180 million. Huh?
  8. Brogdon got 4/85
  9. So basically, the Bucks choice was 1) have very little cap space and let Mids walk or 2) have very little cap space and sign Middleton?
  10. I realize the Middleton money doesn't count towards the cap right now but is there a point when it does? If not then the money really doesn't matter too much does it? Other than the owners having to pay the luxury tax.
  11. Woj bomb: Lopez to sign with Milwaukee for 4/52 As I understand it (which is a tenuous understanding at best), this pretty much takes care of the cap room the Bucks had available. I think they have $2 million left?
  12. I think you're looking at last year's payroll before additions of Soria, Schoop, Moustakas etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but that's how I read it on SportTrac.
  13. You don't trade a guy because of one out-of-context sentence.
  14. The Davies quote is odd because he wasn't that good last year and I fear he's been getting lucky this year. His recent struggles are just his numbers returning to the norm.
  15. We are waiving you to sign And That to a mid level exception.
  16. Santana still had value this off season and Shaw still has some value as well. That said the optics of trading for a .160 hitter in late June means no one is likely to trade for him right now unless we just give him away in a salary dump. I don't think letting it go on this long was the right thing to do, they solved the problem when he went on IL and brought up Hiura then for money reasons sent him down and we had a poor stretch against a lot of LH starters. This isn't just hindsight, most Brewer fans did not like Hiura getting sent down and were skeptical that Shaw would turn it around quickly enough considering how poor he had looked at the plate. Thames and Santana found their way into the doghouse a lot faster last year and they had 30 HR in 2017 as well. The real debate here should be whether the Brewers were right to make sure Hiura cleared super 2 in my opinion. maybe but by the time he gets to near Super 2 status everyone will have forgotten that he was sent back down for another three weeks
  17. adambr2, what do you have to say about this? I strongly suggest avoiding making up quotes like this. At the very least you need to let people know you are doing it or put it in blue.
  18. It's a fallacy that I won't get excited?
  19. Brewers wanted Shaw to get hot probably so they could trade him or, obviously, just keep him. He hit 30+ home runs the last two seasons. They gave him exactly half a season to get back on track which was the right thing to do. He's worth a bag of rosin at this point unfortunately but the intent was smart.
  20. Hiura can't pitch. He is solving the least problematic part of the equation. I'm glad he's here and I expect him to rake but I'm not going to get excited until the pitching whoas are solvdd.
  21. Are you benching Arcia or Hiura both of whom are younger than Dubon making your let the kids play sentence weird. I didn't realize Dubon was only two weeks older than Arcia. Thought Dubon was at least a year older.
  22. Fans often think they know better than the FO, and they are rarely right. Upon reflection, you're right! Bring Shaw back! What are the Brewers doing sending him down? Where's the loyalty to Shaw? Boy, am I wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes! I'm glad management knows what they're doing ... finally! Chill out, dude.
  23. Wow, surprising. I"m not all that disappointed though.
