  1. Yeah, love the guy. No hurry to extend him.
  2. Sounds good in theory but Cain gets a raise, Yelich gets a raise, Moose on that contract is a raise, Davies gets a raise, Guerra gets a raise, Aguilar gets a raise, Arcia gets a raise and you need replacements for the guys you're getting rid of. So you're basically bringing the same team back next year. http://www.quickmeme.com/img/da/da43355c70ef3bbe354d26ccd0e09e0bd28f3afccb0ec699a8327d07308a590f.jpg
  3. Derek Johnson didn't have big league experience when the Brewers hired him. I think the job before us was as minor league pitching coordinator with the Cubs.
  4. Brewers could trade both Grandal and Moustakas and then resign them in the offseason. Yankees did just that with Chapman. Odds of that happening are very slim though.
  5. Agree totally.... We feel entirely different about our team if we have Bum It's not 2015. No kidding. Woodruff is better than Bumgarner.
  6. The fact that theyve played poorly against bad teams is disconcerting. I think if they had Grandal and Moose under contract for next season I'd feel differently about selling . I'm pretty close to throwing in the towel on this year. Things could turn around quickly however...they could win six in a row quite easily.
  7. I heard a rumor that it's not his. That would be an aggressive hug.
  8. "The purge reached another level of absurdity in February, when it was learned that, in another cost-cutting move, the Marlins had fired the person who had been playing the role of mascot Billy the Marlin for the past 14 years." Hahahaha
  9. It'd be hilarious if they traded one or both away for prospects and then resigned them in the off season.
  10. Yeah I mean I could see an enterprising 15 year old from, say, Florida move to the Dominican just to avoid the draft.
  11. I deleted what I thought was a duplicate post but I guess it was showing up on page 2 and 3. So, JumpAround if you want to add back in the Callis tweet please feel free. Sorry about that!
  12. Bio-pics are usually a good bet to both draw well at the box office and generate Oscar buzz. La Bamba, Ray are others that come to mind in just the music genre.
  13. Your martyrdom act is growing REALLY tiresome. Particularly since you simply ignore all facts that run counter to your argument (which seems to be based solely off estimates in the Forbes article). Please do not inject this into every thread related to money and salaries. There's one thread for that sort of thing. Failure to do so with result in a ban. Ok Thank you.
  14. 2016 payroll > 62 2017 payroll > 68 2 years of an extremely low payroll not one. 140+ million in gross profit. Then add the 75-85 million in Gross profit for 2018. So when is the banked $ really gonna be invested in payroll? Read my post from the last page. Stop posting this argument in multiple threads.

  16. When Attanasio made that quote their payroll was under $80 million. It is now over $120 million.
  17. St Paul is kind of an outlier. I think they draw double the next most popular team. But looking at that league, most teams draw well over 3000. Didn't realize that.
  18. Make every player a free agent at the end of every season.
  19. That 94 strike was as much about what was going on at the time as it was about 30 years of mistrust between the players and owners. Fay Vincent was fired because he figured out the owners were colluding against free agents.
  20. 881 seems like a lot to me. a 4000 person stadium for an independent league team seems too big.
  21. Runs/game are roughly the same as they were 10, 20, 30, 50 years ago.
  22. FWIW her comments were made in January and released during the World Cup.
