  1. I can't wait for week 1. Bear fans are pretty cocky right now. Would love to knock them down a peg.
  2. Yes, an extra $50 million would help. I'm not an accountant but I don't think you can just flip capital improvement costs over to labor costs on the ledger and treat it the same way.
  3. Except they don't go over their limit and I think that is where his problem lies. I think most of the savings go into capital projects like food service upgrades, spring training complex, and owning the Mudcats in the present time of sucking. I don't think they save money to use when competing...which is what he wants them to do. Exactly. So if they can invest the profits for said capital improvement( which has helped increase the brewers Franchise value at a higher % the last few years than just about any team in baseball) then why can’t anybody besides myself and MrTPlush hold Attanasio accountable to his OWN WORDS.? A lot of the capital investments are done with an eye on helping player development thus helping the big league team.
  4. For giggles, I just re-read the thread about Gallardo. It's kind of entertaining actually.
  5. Just so we're all on the same page, here's the report from July 18th: Wahl (knee) has been throwing off a mound, Sophia Minnaert of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports. Wahl underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in March, but he's been making solid progress in his recovery. He's already been cleared to throw off a mound, and the next step will be to face live hitters, per Minnaert. It's also worth noting that Wahl has dropped 15-to-20 pounds while on the injured list. If all goes according to plan, there's a chance the right-hander could return to Milwaukee's bullpen before the 2019 campaign comes to a close.
  6. You are nitpicking how I use the word trash while someone else openly wishes Chacin would have been hurt for an extended period of time instead...you guys got the wrong priorities. How about don't call people trash and don't wish injuries on them? Seems simple enough. Also, a reminder to report a post if you find it offensive.
  7. I think Wes and Hill give up some minutes to those four guys on the bottom. I don't see either getting much more than 20 a game.
  8. I had never heard of this but am very intrigued. Looks like a great tool for a small kitchen.
  9. Back to Braun....OPS is over 800 His home/road splits are pretty severe. He's a .906 OPS guy at home and .701 on the road.
  10. AAA#’s Salad > .288 .375 Spang > .317 .385 Freitas > .361 .442 Grisham > .353 .426 Didn’t show home runs and ops because of the juiced ball. Huge difference statistically between the 2 sets of players. Grisham and Freitas also don’t K and walk a lot. Freitas had about as many ab’s last year in his mlb trial with Seattle when he hit .221 as Pina has this year hitting under .200. And this is Freitas’s second AAA year in a row raking. He’s obviously found his hitting stroke, aka Max Muncy, and I’m assuming will be our starting catcher next year. Good job unearthing this guy by our GM. It's a huge difference that could be a tiny difference in the span of a week's worth of games.
  11. Grisham's splits this year are nearly the same vs righties and lefties for what it's worth.
  12. Bucks signed Korver to a one year deal per Woj.
  13. I think that only matters if the lefties can't hit lefties, no?
  14. Stearns > D+ CC, March/April > A CC, since then > F LOL
  15. I read the book Mindset a few weeks ago. The theory it covers is that having a "growth" mindset sets you up for more success, happiness, fulfillment than a "fixed" mindset. Here are the basic differences: http://www.paget.staffs.sch.uk/media/1953322/5-160817-fixed-vs-growth-mindsets-2.png?width=435&height=629 A lot of the examples in the book are from the corporate world where a CEO will personally go out and talk to customers or factory employees rather than think that he or she has all the answers themselves. Given that, is it possible that front offices have some intern or low-level grunt keeping tabs on fan sites and blogs to get personnel ideas? I doubt they'd ever cop to it but I wonder if anyone has heard of such a thing.
  16. Then call up Spanenberg and Freitas too.
