  1. Cubs have used 5 pitchers in game one of a four game set.
  2. I don't mind them using a bunch of BP arms in game 1.
  3. This would have been better posted like two hours ago.
  4. Santana might hit 40 dingers next year if he stays healthy.
  5. YES So that's why we can't complain when the Brewers trade away a pitcher that's just about to get a big pay day. Better a year or two too early than a year or two too late.
  6. I doubt he comes back good as new right away. The best we can hope for is he gets to play enough in 2018 to work out the kinks for 2019. I think we can hope for better than that. If he gets his velocity back he could be ok by the end of the season.
  7. People rip on Andersen as a coach but I think that has more to do with how he left and that abysmal loss to OSU (and to a lesser degree some of the weird stuff with Stave and Gordon). But at the end of the day, he was 19 - 7 in two years with a trip to the B1G Championship. Probably for the best he moved on and from I've heard he had already started packing up his office prior to the Ohio State game but he was an ok coach.
  8. They opened that new public area just west of the stadium. I doubt the sledding hill will be operational since it's gonna be like 87 degrees but might be worth checking out.
  9. IMO, The biggest advantage big markets have is being able to rapidly overcome expensive mistakes.
  10. Really is remarkable....too bad they are weenies.
  11. If you think about it, it could be argued the Packers had their four best players after Rodgers out of the majority of that game.
  12. Even better - knock the Cubs out of the division title, then Colorado beats Chicago and St. Louis for the 2nd wild card. That would be fun. Ooooh! That wins. I'm rooting for that.
  13. Rogers Hornsby was in the KKK
  14. That is the reality. It's like "next man up" syndrome. In the NFL, the next man up is a big downgrade in most cases. The only concern I have about the game last night was the lack of any kind of pass rush. They really missed Daniels but Perry was non existent.
  15. Two very questionable calls don't get called and it's 27 - 14. (34 - 10 as I type)
  16. Yeah, 2016 was neat to see the rebuild start but it didn't really excite me all that much.
  17. I would love to win the division, but even better than that would be getting in as 2nd wild card and then beating the Cubs in the playoffs. I don't know how playoff matchups work so I'm assuming we'd both have to win a series first but that's ok.
  18. There's trying to lose in order to get a better draft pick and there's trading away good players knowing it makes your team worse in the short term. Big difference.
  19. A couple of thoughts after today's game: Hornibrook's arm looks MUCH better This is one of the better receiving corps they've had in a long time Taylor is the real deal. That kid is quick. I don't think the LBs get as much pressure as we are used to. Overall this team looks really solid in all phases. Definitely could run the table with a little luck
  20. Just the fact that he made the majors makes that Aaron Hill trade a big win for Milwaukee. Particularly given what Hill ended up doing post trade.
  21. So trading off assets and rebuilding your farm system is now considered tanking.
  22. After the rain out with no rain and the switch to the night game they can pretty much suck it. Yea for sure. From their perspective though, "brewers whine and complained about a rainout and moving a game back a few hours, now they're getting 3 extra home games..." Oh they'll say that for sure....big difference is that this is the league making the decision and not the team.
