  1. Here's what we were talking about 10 years ago today on this site.
  2. I think everyone thinks the bottom is going to drop out because no one expected there to be a ceiling. Does that make sense? No, but who cares.
  3. The way he's going Arcia might end up with an .800 OPS by season's end.
  4. Nice to see Perrin back and striking out people on the regular. Looking forward to seeing what he does from here on out.
  5. Ahem! Optimism thread.
  6. .800 OPS Someone will come calling even though he couldn't throw out Bartolo Colon
  7. Arcia's OPS is over .700. He's been raking the last four weeks.
  8. Man how good has Shaw been? What an acquisition.

  10. The fact that he was (past tense) an all star means squat. He actually had a lower WAR than Bandy this year. Brewers are betting he bounces back higher than Bandy would have while giving them some positional flexibility. Risk worth taking with a backup catcher spot.
  11. Vogt can also play 1B and OF. That may mean more than any marginal improvement he offers on offense.
  12. And replace him with a guy that's been just as bad? .227 in his last month. Almost 5x better actually. He also is a bit more versatile and he is another lefty bat to add to the mix on the bench. The move makes quite a bit of sense. Helps he I see a pretty good veteran pretense too. This is a pretty minor change. Not saying Vogt is going to be much of an improvement, but Bandy has been a lost cause for over a month. I won't lose sleep either way. Both have a pretty minor impact. I like the idea of his versatility and the fact he is a lefty. Seems a bit more useful. One month does not a season make. Yeah, not a major impact either way. Maybe Vogt catches lightning in a bottle. he was pretty good two years ago.
  13. And replace him with a guy that's been just as bad?
  14. Gald you had a good time. I feel our city/state are quite underrated. Also, it's Milwaukee - with two e's. Milwaukie is in Oregon
  15. Odd move. Wonder what's up?
  16. Yes, but Knebel is within shouting distance of those guys - heck he's within loud conversation of them. He's been elite at a micro fraction of the cost. Jansen makes $10 million and Kimbrel makes over $13 million
  17. I'm ok with Wilson at #17. He's got upside, length, and a good outside shot.
  18. Only two relievers have higher K:9 than Knebel - Betances and Kimbrel. He's arguably a better closer than Kenley Jansen for 95% less money.
  19. I think the Bucks would have to bring in a 3rd team to offer up a higher draft pick.
