  1. Odorizzi is really impressing me this year. Can't wait to see how he progresses. Another guy we don't hear much about is Meadows. He's got really strong K:BB and K/IP ratios. Interesting guy to follow.
  2. Dennis Hopper died of cancer yesterday. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/gallery/2010/05/29/GA2010052902010.html
  3. Agreed. The great prophesy has come to pass. Time to shut 'er down.
  4. Another way to look at Heether is that he's only had one bad year in the minors and that was like four years ago. The Brewers need a right handed pinch hitter to boot.
  5. For the uninitiated, a thread title just like this caused great furor in 2007 here at Brewerfan.net. Well the author of that thread should feel slightly vindicated. Bill Hall is currently pitching for Boston and just retired the side in order. Here's the original thread: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=6633?page=1
  6. Agreed. Looking forward to the box scores tonight.
  7. If his control is so off, why does he only have 1 BB through 7 IP? Is it simply because Kane County is so bad?
  8. I would say there's as much luck involved in a player progressing as there is in actual scouting and player development.
  9. Too bad he's so young. I'd love to see someone to throw a knee bending curve ball.
  10. Some died before (Libby, Boone, Shannon, etc.), some died long, long after Jack (Kate, Hurley, Sawyer, Miles, etc.). There wasn't the same sense of 'now' in the alternate timeline / purgatory. ---------------------- That makes sense to me. But if that's the case isn't it kind of odd that they all had their moment of self discovery within the same short period of time? Or is "time" not really relevant since it doesn't exist in that world?
  11. Speaking of Shannon...I'm glad they brought her back. She was annoying but she was also hot.
  12. I can buy the "alternate timeline" as purgatory but... - Why was Sawyer, Kate, and Claire at the church but not the Captain, Richard, or Miles? - Why was Penny at the church?
  13. SWEEP! http://tvbythenumbers.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/sweep-broom.png
  14. Dykstra at 3B? When did they make that move?
  15. Get rid of Soup and Vargas ------------------- I think that's more on Melvin than Macha.
  16. The pitching line doesn't really lie. He was crushed. There's really no other way to put it. Hope he can turn it around.
  17. As I recall, people were shocked he fell to the Brewers in the draft. And Mass, you should thank TheCrew for saving you the misery of watching that first inning.
  18. So have we figured out who Jack's wife is in the alternate storyline?
  19. I think Rauch will come back to earth a bit. He's currently leaving 89% of runners on base vs. 73% for his career. Of course, all his other peripheral stats are beating his career norms so maybe he's having a career year. We shall see.
  20. Just sit by the scouts and let us know what they're talking about http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Team BFan.net, My brothers and I are in search of an old commercial from the 70's. It was a PSA of a little kid walking through a forest and a meadow. The voice over goes something like this: I have a secret place I call the forest. Birds chirp there. Squirrels run there. I have a secret place I call the meadow. butterflies fly there. the sun shines there. (shot of kid watching lumberjacks cutting down trees) Kid: I hope they never find MY secret places! I've come across blog postings that reminisce about the commercial but until now no one seems to have been able to find it. If anyone remembers this PSA and who sponsored it (I assume it was the Ad Council but their website has no mention) I'd greatly appreciate it. This is driving us nuts.
  22. Bring the camera TLB... Wonder if Fiers will be able to follow up his dominating performance last time out for the Manatees with something equally spectacular.
  23. Bump Heyward's stat line after hitting .372 the first 19 days of May is now .288 AVG 8HRs 29 RBI .982 OPS
