  1. Missouri makes a ton of sense. They've been really good at hoops the last few years, and it was only a few years ago they were in the national title conversation in football until late in the year. From an economic standpoint they draw from Kansas City and St. Louis markets. Makes much more sense than Iowa West (Nebraska).
  2. I seem to recall some scouts saying Jeffress profiled as a closer at the time he was drafted.
  3. Yeah it was almost anti-climactic the way Doc Emmerich called it. Great series!
  4. Dusty is still their manager.....I remember thinking Wood and Prior were going to dominate the NL Central for a decade.
  5. Jeffress activated, sent to T-Rats
  6. Or it could mean that the only college pitchers left projected as bullpen guys. To me, that was a throwaway line by Melvin.
  7. I hate drafting high school pitchers in the first round. I don't care about drafting guys that can help sooner than later and I like the best player available scenario but the injury risk is so great that I think small market teams need to look elsewhere. I hope this guy proves me wrong. At least we're not drafting DII guys http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Pomerantz will go next. Then Barret Loux.
  9. I'll say Colon for the Royals.
  10. I feel really old when I see Harper was born during my sophomore year of college.
  11. Is there a reason the Nats are taking the full five minutes? Everyone and their mother knows who they're going to take.
  12. Dude was slugging .726. That's 171 points higher than the next highest guy. Wow.
  13. You know Ned Yost is going to lobby for him in KC. Too bad the Brewers don't play them this year.
  14. Pujols never even played AA and he only played three games in AAA. Miguel Cabrera went straight from AA to the majors.
  15. It really bugs me when people talk loudly on their cell phones while riding a train and or bus.
  16. They might give Scooter a cup of coffee at Brevard towards the end of the season. They've done that with young players before although it's typically been Rookie ball to A ball.
  17. Another stellar performance for Meadows last night - (1 1/3 innings, 0 hits, 1 BB, 4K's). For the season his line is 39 1/3 innings, 12 BB, 42K's. Anybody got a recent scouting report on him? I checked the old draft thread from 2008 when Meadows was taken in the 49th round and Colby said his fastball was high 80's at the time. Is that still the case? What's his upside? He gives up his share of hits (38 on the year) so I'm not sure if what we're seeing is legit but the K:IP and K:BB are very good.
  18. I really wish Lawrie would stop trying to steal. He's not very good at it.
  19. I guess he finally fixed that elbow.
  20. I think I heard that one of the games was the highest rated Cup game in like 30 years.
  21. A couple of nice pitching performances tonight (Heckathorn, Peralta) and some major offense by Huntsville. I know I sound like a broken record but Cain's improved eye at the plate is really incredible. 2 more walks tonight gives him 21 in 132 at bats (game in the 6th). Compare that to last season when he had 20 in 206 ABs all year.
  22. That means it's probably Odorizzi. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif As for the P50, I think Meadows should be on there some place. Maybe doesn't have the upside but he's putting up really solid numbers this year.
  23. The city is going nuts for the Hawks right now and it's a lot of fun. Only Chicago team I care about and it makes the bars a lot more jovial that's for sure.
