I've been hearing that Beane pretty much threw Macha under the bus with the players. Beane was calling a lot of the shots from the GM position and if things went wrong he blamed Macha.
"Milwaukee has more bars than per capita than any other city I believe. It's not really so much a joke as it is true. " I heard the same thing about LaCrosse.
There is no need ask about what to do for fun in Las Vegas. There is more to do here than I could even try to think about, and I don't gamble. Wow, a discussion on a handful of bars turns into "there's nothing to do in Milwaukee".
Upton was hurt all year which dampened his power numbers. He hit like 24 HR's last year. I don't think he's underachieving at all. And I really don't think Weeks has the instincts to play anywhere on defense - 2B, CF, bullpen lackey, etc.
Depends on what you're into. Mo's Irish Pub is basically across the street from the riverside. Otherwise you could walk over to Milwaukee St. and hang out at Kenadees or Hotel Metro's bar. Mason St. Grill (I think that's what it's called) in the Pfister also has a nice bar. If you want to walk another block or two there's Flannery's and Mikey's up by Cathedral Square. And don't let Paul scare you. That stabbing on Water St was during a chick fight so it doesn't count. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
I think the trade for Cordero was pretty good. Not to mention he's gotten really good value off of some scrap heap pickups (Podsednik, Doug Davis, Kapler to name a few)
Cain played 40 games at AA, Gillespie played 130. I'll wait until a full AA season equivalent before passing judgement but I do agree that Cain is the better prospect based on ceiling alone.
I definitely think Cain has a much, much higher ceiling than Gillespie but at some point in the not so distant future he has to show the numbers meeting the potential.
The sporting gods are too cruel for the Sox to come back from a 3 - 1 deficit again. They allowed the Red Sox to win only to give them false hope. Much like New England winning every game but the Super Bowl - karma is tipping the other way for Boston sports. Just watch, the Celtic will cruise through May and then Garnett will tear his ACL at a lobster boil.
People like to complain about the quasi - serious story lines but they really do add depth to the characters which pays off with bigger laughs in future episodes. Although, I agree that a shot of the stroller would have been a good capper. I love it when Michael butchers the english language.....maybe it was last week when he said "Catharctic".
Night of the Living Dead was on TV last night. You would need something with a sharp edge or tip on it. A normal bat might deter but it would not kill a zombie unless you could get repeated blows to the head. In close quarters and fighting multiple zombies that would not work.
