  1. Brewers White Sox would be doubly crushing to the Cubs. That's what I'm rooting for.
  2. I want the Sox to beat the Cubs in the World Series. That would be awesome.
  3. "You cheated on me? When I specifically asked you not to?"
  4. That's exactly what I did when I started work.
  5. It is a good deal but you should be putting 15% in there even though they only match up to 6.
  6. Yeah, Will's is weird - Cubs, Badgers, Packers. I've never heard of a Brewer bar although Mahoney's on Ogden and Racine has Brewer fan bartenders and might be very pro Brewer.
  7. If she can time the market, good for her. Not many people can. She may buy in and the market could drop again. The goal of a 401K is not how big your portfolio is right now, it's how big it is at the point you retire. Just because hers is larger now doesn't mean squat 30 years from now. Also, we're talking 401Ks right?
  8. A gift certificate to Old Country Buffet.
  9. By the time Brantley gets to the majors, neither Kendall nor Counsell will be on the team (knock on wood).
  10. Maybe getting the 26 year monkey off their back will relax them.....
  11. Fondy, you could have kept that money under your pillow and beat the market. over the short term stocks go up and they go down. Look up dollar cost averaging on the web - if you're in it for the long run it's best to just do an annual review of your holdings. it's way too difficult to time the market - unless you're Warren Buffett.
  12. 1. frame him for the murder of Ronnie Woo Woo (not advised) 2. get compromising photos of CC and Counsell in the shower 3. chain him to the pitcher's mound (doubt you could get a chain strong enough) 4. find him a solid off season job at Briggs and Stratton so he doesn't have to worry about money 5. take him to Kopp's for french silk custard day......he'll never leave.
  13. JSOnline is saying Gallardo will start game 1.
  14. There are theories out there that 401K investing is what drove this market crazy in the first place. Not sure I buy that but in any case, if you're 25 there is no reason to start moving your retirement money to money markets. The market will rebound, it always does. It may not be this year, heck it may not be five years but if you start getting conservative you will lose out in the long run. 401Ks are instruments you tune up annually - not when the market tanks. Unless you have that money earmarked for something in the next two - three years you should leave it where it is. Of course, some people can't handle the swings (which is fine) and so then cash or money market is the way to go but realize that you will lose out on gains in the long run. (and do some research on the web before listening to me. I'm just a schmuck that worked at mutual fund company for three months and read the Wall St Journal Guide to Investing during down time).
  15. You don't have a 401K? IRA?
  16. Game 1: Scott Karl Game 2: Jeff Juden Game 3: Ben Diggins Game 4: Ruben Quevedo Game 5: Wes Obermueller Rotation of the damned!
  17. Counsell for manager in '09! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Terrace Sec 420. Row 21 I think.
  19. Maybe Gagne does too - these are only the published charitable contributions. It's a nice gesture in any event. He probably gives more than most pro athletes.
  20. I don't think so. The beat guys typically have players and management as sources. The general public has everyone else. Whether that's Cindy in accounting that overheard something at lunch or Jake the intern who heard Ash on his cell phone or Bobby the clubhouse kid that saw a guy in the training room or Betty Sue who gets her nails done at the same place as Ben Sheets' wife.
  21. My post was a joke. I thought that was sort of obvious - I guess not. It was not a dig at GormanHarvey in any way, shape, or form. In fact, I appreciated the way he/she presented his nugget of info.
  22. I'm interested to see if Toby will be on the show again. I thought I read that the actor was leaving but in reading some press clippings recently it sounds like he's back all season long.
