  1. Anybody notice that Helms was bumped down the order a spot? He's hitting 7th today. I thought third basemen had to hit 6th?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  2. I logged into the internet here at the airport just in time to see Sheets lose his shutout. From his stat line he looks like he is absolutely dealing. Moose Haas' 14 K record is in serious trouble.
  3. Helms is hitting .341 in his last ten games with 7 RBI. I don't think he needs to be benched right now. What we need to do is get another starting pitcher from the scrap heap. Nugget Miner better get his pith helmet on.
  4. Jeez, the Crew just had their second come from behind victory in a row. Enjoy the moment!
  5. I'd rather use Hall instead of Durrington.
  6. Obie seems to be pitching well enough. Too bad tow of the three hits given up were a triple and a dinger.
  7. Montreal Milwaukee 1 Endy Chavez, CF Scott Podsednik, CF 2 Orlando Cabrera,SS Craig Counsell, SS 3 Jose Vidro, 2B Keith Ginter, 2B 4 Brad Wilkerson,1B Geoff Jenkins, LF 5 Tony Batista, 3B Lyle Overbay, 1B 6 Terrmel Sledge, LF Wes Helms, 3B 7 Ron Calloway, RF Ben Grieve, RF 8 Brian Schneider, C Gary Bennett, C 9 Zach Day, P Wes Obermueller, P I tried, but I can't get this spaced right. I could try harder, but that would require effort.
  8. Lot of extra inning games today.....A's and Tigers are in the 15th, Twins and Seattle are in the 11th.
  9. I've read scouting reports on Ginter that say his open stance makes him vulnerable to K's and that pitchers may be able to figure him out the more they see him. That's why I've always held my tongue in the pro Ginter debates. I'm still not sold that he's an everyday player. His batting average went way down when he got regular playing time last year, although his OBP didn't really suffer because he walks enough. I don't think he's bad by any means, but I sometimes wonder if he's more productive off the bench. Granted, if Helms keeps sucking then I'd prefer we stick Ginter at 3rd to take his hacks, but he's far from the ultimate answer at the position.
  10. Ginter has now K'd 14 times in his last 37 AB's. He's now 7 for his last 37 (those AB's have all been since May 1 - I believe that's the day Spivey went out of the game)
  11. Terrmel Sledge has one of the best names in baseball....right behind Stubby Clapp.
  12. Well said, Rotoherb. The bullpen is the biggest problem on the team.
  13. Whatever happened to the old "Ginter in right field" line? Oh yeah, Grieve started hitting. When Helms starts hitting (and he will start hitting) I wonder who people will want to replace next? Smart money is on Counsell although Jenkins has been slumping too and I think Hall can play the outfield. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  14. Well that could have been really ugly. Nice to see Matt dig in and get those two K's.
  15. Do the Brewers have a 'best' reliever?
  16. is it a jinx to mention a no hitter on a message board? EDIT: I guess just thinking about posting this was a jinx. Had to change it in mid post.
  17. I love message boards. Now that Grieve is hitting .288 no one says a word about him.
  18. Hall is going deep. I'm making the call.
  19. A regular scrubby hitting pitcher that's fine, but Obie can swing the stick.
  20. Can we hire Dean Taylor to put a bullpen together? IIRC, that was the only strength the Brewers really had during his tenure here.
  21. Saucer of milk? Table for two! Meow!!!
  22. Prince Fielder is really good.
  23. I think Wes started 2003 batting under the Medoza line so I wouldn't panic just yet. I would give him a day or two off though.
