    You probably don't need to watch every season. At some point each episode is the same thing: Dude tries to get back with his ex-wife, dude does something dumb and can't get back with his ex-wife.

    People can be innocent of crimes while still being guilty of horrible judgment. I think owners are leery of signing a guy with a history of horrible judgment.

    The point wasn't to judge a single trade but to point out that the story of roster building and asset management doesn't end with a single tranasaction. Sometimes you need to get from A to B in order to get to C.

    I think general consensus is that the Brewers didn't get a commensurate return. But people always look at it in a vacuum. No one is gonna look back at this trade when the Brewers can sign a stud away from his college commitment during the draft. But dig a little deeper: - The Brewers still have Gasser who may sneak into the rotation this year - The Brewers traded Ruiz and got William Contreras and Joel Payamps A back-end starter, very solid bullpen guy, and controllable all-star catcher seems like a decent return for a closer with one year left until free agency.
