  1. I don't know what day the DFA took place, but it was before surgery. Only his release from Nashville happened on the day of surgery. I've said enough about this. I'm moving on.
  2. He was DFAd before the surgery, he was released from Nashville the day of the surgery.
  3. This guy is in love with groundouts to the SS. Those aren't better. Be more concerned with actual production than type of out.
  4. Yup, Hiura versus righties is simply a dominant hitter, and McCutchen has been lame in his late career versus rightness. There's simply no other way to frame it. I do love that we at least recognize that Brosseau kills lefties. That entry level managing, but I'll take it.
  5. What's good numbers in August? For the season? The last 3 years? Yeah, McCutchen sucks, but he plays because he's the owners favorite player. Attanasio sucks.
  6. CC did it again. It's like they're doing everything under their power to make Hiura fail. How can reverse solid before the hardest thing in the world for them to understand?
  7. True, my comment was before I realized we were having a lefty, but shouldn't Renfroe bat cleanup versus them?
  8. Agree. I love CC, but he hasn't been himself this year. Really weird decisions, especially with Hiura.
  9. Both have a good chance of being non tendered.
  10. Can this please, please, be the game that we don't have our lowest OPS hitter batting cleanup? The Brewers would have a much better lineup with a Brosseau/Hiura DH platoon.
  11. He wasn't just released from his 40 man spot, that happened a while ago. He wasn't offered a AAA roster spot, that's what he was released from, and didn't have a 100K contract there. He was offered a lower level minor league contract, which isn't even a living wage, which is why he turned that down. While I'm accused of conspiracy theories, the truth is I'm one of the few that actually knows what happened here.
  12. How is Ruiz as a 2nd baseman? He could be a option there. Platoon with Turang? Wong is a actually productive, so replacing him with a rookie will be tough. The other spots, no big deal. Frelick replaces Cain/Davis, so Frelick could be an upgrade. The other player being replaced is McCutchen, and he's terrible, so a rookie likely wouldn't be a downgrade even if he struggles. At least with McCutchen gone we'd gain versatility, instead of being saddled with a DH only.
  13. I really like all 5, but if we start 3 rookies next year, and surround them with the mediocre holdovers we have, we'll suck. If we go with cheap rookies, then we better find a stud who can carry the offense for long stretches. I do think we see Frelick already this year. They're desperate for some good PR.
  14. Barker was no longer on the 40, so no, he won't be paid a 40 man wage. The Brewers pay for his rehab. That's it. So, it's not me conflating. Yes, I do think they were vindictive to Barker through out his career for vocally complaining about minor league pay. He was passed over for promotions at every level despite outstanding production. Think they could have waited until the day after surgery to release him? Of course they could have, but instead they did what they did. MLB was just hit with a $195 million dollar settlement because players like Barker brought eyes to a travesty. The Brewers got their revenge, and their PR nightmare continues.
  15. I'm not gullible. The 2nd tweet was bought and paid for. I guarantee Barker would never do the Brewers a favor now that he's an ex employee when they fought while he was an employee.
  16. If you know the history between these 2, it would be naive to think the Brewers called Barker and said "please be nicer to us" and he said "sure, we've always had a good relationship, why not?" Barker loudly fought for fair wages, something the Brewers were dead set against.
  17. So people that don't agree with you are Nancy's? Isn't the point of this site to share information and opinion?
  18. It's cool that Barker was able to use social media to burn the Brewers for how they've always treated him, and then the Brewers contacted him to buy his silence.
  19. I agree, but it's important to curve Ruiz's numbers because of the favorable hitting environments he's been in. All the OFs we have are really good or great prospects with different strengths.
  20. They've always crapped on Barker, likely because he fought for livable minor league wages. Attanasio and Stearns have really revealed themselves this week, and what we're seeing isn't pretty. I wouldn't be surprised if Stearns quit after the season. Being Attanasio's puppet has to be wearing thin.
  21. How can the Padres buy but we can't?
  22. I'm ready for the Matt Arnold show.
