  1. The reason to be excited about this is that maybe this will start a flurry of first and second round pick signings such as our own Rickie Weeks. That is one thing that I truly hope for.
  2. Hey Patrick! You were courtesy picks because of the demands for money and most of all the committment to college. I am not sure where Zink is heading, but Maday is going to Arkansas. Maday had a strong committment to them regardless. He is taking the same route that Scott Roehl took. Hopefully it works out for him and in a couple years when he develops a little more we could have a shot at him. Unfortunately this year we missed out on Roehl since he was picked up by the Indians. Gotta say that I love all these quick signings. Melvin and Jack Z and the scouts are doing what they got to do to get them deals done. Now lets get our big two done!!
  3. I'm very happy to see that we got one of the state kids to sign. He could be a sleeper. Augie does a good job with his kids at Carthage, and seeing this guy possibly suceed for us would just make it that much sweeter.
  4. Patrick I believe you are talking about Jeremy Wilson from Burlington Catholic Central that is now playing for UW-Milwaukee.
  5. I was wondering when that Fausto Mejia was gonna get a shot. He was the offensive star on that DSL team last year. I just hope he can continue to show that here now in the states.
  6. Gotta love it when the Brewers draft a kid from in-state like that Grybash. I was also hoping that they will take this kid from Parkside. Regardless I always root for the home state kids to get a chance!
  7. Hey Patrick! Nice article on the possible WI kids that may get drafted. It is always nice to see what kind of prospects are actually in our state. There may not be a whole lot like the Southern states, but we will take what we got.
  8. It is good to see Melvin get these deals done. I have no worries now about the upcoming draft. The only thing I am wondering is where Toby is going to place everyone on the Power 50. That itself is a mystery.
  9. What a fool!!! Probably had Boras for his representation!! Shows what greed will get you!!
  10. I tell ya!! I just don't like the Weeks prospect. Would love to have a power hitting outfielder--Young/Harvey!! These are two guys that could leap through the system from their endless talent. Young or Harvey in this year's draft!!!
  11. Well we know that Loewen is gone, so now the debate is whether it will be Young or Harvey to me. Tampa seems pretty sure that they will take either Weeks or Young. Preferrably I would like either Young or Harvey. I just think we might just end up with Harvey. Weeks isn't even scheduled for a workout with us. Is it a hint maybe?
  12. Hey guys!! Two down and one to go!! All we have left to really sign is Mannon. Too bad we couldn't get any inside information from his side like we do with Mike!! Brian/Patrick anything you've heard about Mannon?
  13. I know a lot of you are all about Loewen. That is cool, but I am really liking the look of this Ryan Harvey. The kid is 6'5 and he is going to fill in the rest later as he grows. I am liking this guy a lot. I mean how many people come back from ACL surgery in five months and then jack a homer in his first game 400 ft!! I don't know about the rest of the crew here, but I am definately jumping on because I do not think it will be that hard of sign either. These kids want to play pro ball now than latter. I don't know if it will truly take 4 mil to sign him either. Any thoughts?!
  14. I know we are all chomping at the bit to get Eveland and Mannon signed, but we also have to remember that even though Mike gets us some info that they are probably not at liberty to speak of any deal until it becomes official. It will get done. I mean look we have already thrown out a proposal to them. This is just a benchmark to see where the asking margins are. Hopefully it gets done soon in time. I would hate to see Dana pitch for some other organization. As far as Mannon I don't think anyone has really heard much on him. If anyone knows anything throw us a bone!
  15. Hey obviously for some reason the brewers still like this Ernster. Got to see if he still really has any worth. Might as well get him some at bats, besides he seems to be able to play a few positions. This will give some of the other guys a day off once in a while. This in turn will keep guys from getting burned out because no matter how much you love to do something too much can be tiring. I do wish Belcher would hit a bomb pretty soon because I believe once he hits that first I see plenty more on the horizon.
  16. Hey guys since we are doing these great updates that you are providing do any of you know how Justin Barnes is doing, and what about Adam Mannon? These two are both players that we may very well end up with before the draft. Thanks!
