  1. Actually, to see us apparently getting the #2 pick signed, while the #1, 3, and 4 are not, is a very encouraging sign for the future of the organization.
  2. Take the money when it's offered, boys. Though the credibility on this is extremely small, they have only an unsigned letter to the cops at this point.
  3. Even as a certified member of the WHY IS JM GOLD ON THE 40 MAN ROSTER CLUB {I'm not just a member, I'm a client} I have to believe a couple guys would, and should be dropped before him: Manning and McKay come to mind right away. As pointed out, with 60 day DL issues, this won't be a problem until the offseason.
  4. One sidenote is that someone will have to be dropped from the full 40-man roster to accommodate Weeks' presence. Sigh, the negatives begin so soon. If it's not JM Gold, I may weep.
  5. Kind of like reducing a player to ABsxOBPxSLG. Generally true, but there are other issues. Other issues??? I'll have to look into that.
  6. Unless a topless streaker runs across the field, it has no chance of being on ESPN...Brian, what's the wife up to 8/14?
  7. Dollarbill, At the risk of sounding like a pompous genius, he couldn't play until 2004 if he signed a 2004 deal. Can't play without a contract.
  8. Catcher never saw the ball after it bounced away. 1B had to dig it out from an area that's tough to get at, by dugout. Nice outing by Kinney against a team that has no clue how to work a count.
  9. I worked tonight, but you gotta like Wes' numbers in his second start, especially considering his personal life. Sure would be nice to underestimate a player's worth. Two very nice outings thus far.
  10. Luis' must be the Crew's #1 AAA option right now. He's dong extraordinarily well, in his first 10 innings.
  11. Mass, do you have any splits on Conti? It seems since say, 6/1, he's been hitting the ball pretty well.
  12. 2000 might be pretty accurate. Even the "prime" seats are extremely empty.
  13. You have to let the player fail. The Brewers "knew" Brian Tollberg couldn't handle AAA, despite success in AA. , and released him. He's a decent bottom of the rotation starter for SD now. Promote them until they fail, you never know until they do.
  14. I'm still curious how we finished the game with Ginter and Kieschnick on the bench, and Burba leading off an inning. Brooks got up late in the game, but didn't pitch...couldn't have used him to get one batter, then hit? Do you s'pose Ned decides where he's going to eat, or does he just let the car guide him to an establishment...I'm not sure if he's planned out a thing since the break.
  15. Royce shouldn't be on the roster, never mind starting. He's the worst SS in baseball, look at the sortables.
  16. Notice how Dejean never even got up last night. Ned has it engrained in his noggin that Mike, Leo, and Danny all pitch when tied or ahead, he can't make an exception, even down one in Coors. Still much better than Lopester, but horrible game management. We're not talking about a guy who gave up 10 runs in an inning and has been OK since, Luis has been a consistent 8 ERA man. Pretending he has value is nothing but stubbornness.
  17. Nance also pitched well, once again, in AAA. I find it funny Ned said, "Well, he wasn't getting a chance to pitch here", as if it's a chance thing. Set your guys up to fail... Davis should be called up to replace Burba. Dave has no place with a young team. His only job was to be an emergency starter, and that's done now. Move on.
  18. Congrats to Helena, unless Drew Jr. is working for the local paper, I have to believe they clinched a spot.
  19. Pods also looked horrible on the deep fly ball he flat out missed that turned into a triple. If that's how he looks going back on a fly ball, he needs to play deeper.
  20. I like Wes O. Not gona be a star, but he throws strikes and goes right after the batter. 3 earned in 6 is a fine debut, nevermind in Coors.
  21. I can't, the radio is a second or so ahead of the TV. It makes watching seem like an instant replay.
  22. Thank goodness all 3 games are on TV, as those two replacements will likely be unbearable.
