  1. This has entered the territory where I'm feeling bad for the player. Freddy's got ace stuff and ace results and he's gonna be paid like a middle reliever throughout his prime.
  2. How much does that roster cost?
  3. Buyout was only 250k next season I believe.
  4. Dominguez is the guy I want.
  5. And wait 4-6 years? He has a much, much better chance of never making it to the big leagues than of being the next Franco. Pass. If you're under the impression like I am that the Brewers window has closed and what they need most is a huge boost to their farm system, starting with a guy who grades out as the next phenom in a couple years is pretty great start.
  6. If the Yankees offered us Dominguez and we took that, it would sting a bit given that he's only 16. But he's also got a chance to be the next Wander Franco type prospect. I'd be happy with that.
  7. Making sense of the rumored Ryan Braun trade
  8. Who cares about filling holes when you're years away from serious contention? Get the best talent you can, figure out the rest later. A package led by Rosario would be fantastic.
  9. If Villar is a potential long term option at 3B, then why not give him an extensive look now while wins and losses don't matter? What good does it do to play him at a position he probably won't be sticking at?
  10. Of course there is a reason to keep him past the deadline: the offers for him aren't good, and you believe they will be better in 2017 if he shows a full season's worth of excellent production.
  11. Why does anyone care when Scooter's clock starts? I think he could make for a fine platoon option until we get a real long term solution, but I'm not going to worry about his arbitration clock.
  12. Does anyone really believe that sitting a guy for a game (or two or five) will help him play better? Like it's the magical fix for a guy who's struggled for the majority of the last season and a half? Play Bianchi. At this point it doesn't really matter outside of the fact that we really don't want Weeks to get enough PAs for his option to kick in.
  13. Joe Sheehan's newsletter today focused on what projects to be a historic Brewers lineup: I'm not going to quote any more out of fear of getting scolded, but he makes a good argument that the Brewers lack of left handed batters is killing them in the late innings when teams can bring in RHP relievers without consequence. He mentions they rank 7th in runs scored but 14th in runs scored in the 7th+ for this particular reason. I suggest subscribing or finding your way to the full post. Is there a conceivable fix or temporary band-aid to the problem?
  14. Am I supposed to be excited about those numbers? No.
  15. Do you think Gennett's .675 line is his upside if he's only hitting RHP? Because that seems unlikely.
  16. Gennett's OPS vs RHP by year: 2010: .807 2011: .767 2012: .759 2013: .878 Bring him up for a few weeks to see how he does in a platoon situation.
  17. Would you rather have Cain, Escobar, Jeffress and Odorizzi or Segura, Hellweg and Pena? This is a no-brainer to me. I think we ended up with the best player in the deal by a good margin and we got to watch Greinke help the Brewers win a division title.
  18. This was the best thing I saw today. It's hilarious. My favorite: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/2599079/DELMON.jpg
  19. The NFL is doing it wrong too.

  21. It seems like the most logical thing on the planet to me, and it should be universal in every major sport. In every arena create a small room with the best camera feeds, a computer with access to the feeds and a really big monitor. Everything that should be reviewed is. Out on the bases, completed catches, out of bounds, shot clock violations, etc. There aren't enough of these kinds of close plays in a game that a game should be drastically lengthened, and officials get the calls right most of the time. But when there's a question, have that review booth on top of it to make an immediate call down. No challenge flags or timeouts or umpires running to a monitor. Hell, in MLB and the NFL I bet the games get shorter. Managers won't run onto the field, NFL refs won't huddle next to a monitor. Again, for years this has seemed like the dead-simple option and I can't believe it isn't universal by now.
  22. Was hoping it'd be Washington. Where is our pick?
