  1. Maybe they're paying attention to his .170 avg this season with runners in scoring position.
  2. Jon Heyman just tweeted the Angels are interested in Fielder too.
  3. I don't know if the Brewers could do better than Minor for Hart so if that's ever put on the table I take it and run. My second choice would be Davis. Side note, this has been the bright spot on the season, Hart (seemingly) resurrecting his trade value. I never would have imagined we'd be here in July talking about the possibility of adding a young potential #2 or #3 starter for him.
  4. What I like out of my broadcasters is subtlety and a voice that doesn't make me mute the TV. Bill is fine.
  5. per his twitter feed: http://twitter.com/pgammo/status/18045429564 I would be happy with this.
  6. They have plenty of outfield options, but what about at first? Lawrie, Gamel and Casey have been mentioned as options, but it seems like Hart would be a logical option if and when they decide to move Prince. I'm still of the idea that they should sell high on Hart, but if they do decide to keep him I think that a shot at 1st might not be a terrible plan.
  7. I like this pick better than the 2nd rounder, at least from what little I've read.
  8. For those interested in the iPad, I think this is worth a drool...er, look: http://www.bizofbaseball.com/images/AtBatiPadVidWithWidgets.jpg
  9. Well the full title for the USFL episode was Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL? Donald Trump was more or less the subject of the story. Of course he's gonna look bad. I haven't seen King's Ransom and I missed the episode last night, but I agree. They really seem well done.
  10. You spend all your time throwing from a specific motion at a distance of 60 feet, six inches. Changing that up in an instant is tough and awkward. There is absolutely nothing routine about it.
  11. To me it comes down to this: If you can get a middle of the rotation caliber pitcher for Casey, move him and hand the job to Gamel. If not, send Gamel back to AAA and see if McGhehee's '09 was a fluke or not. People look at Casey and simply assume that because of his minor league history and his lack of eye popping tools that last season was a fluke. But what if it wasn't? What if he actually gets better? I completely agree that some people are way too quick to dismiss Casey's season. Unless the Brewers get blown away in a deal that offers them middle to top of the rotation caliber pitching for either player, bring both back.
  12. They should make drugs to induce what I'm feeling right now. Oh yea, they do. http://www.ecstasydata.org/images/2008/1607_lg_smiley.jpg
  13. I'm fine with moving guys on the 25 if it fills a hole. For example, if there was a young(ish) starter to be had for Hardy I'd have no problems dealing him and bringing up Alcides. But I'd have a big problem moving prospects for any starter not named Lee or Halladay. At least with those two you are able to flip them over the winter to make up for whatever you gave traded away.
  14. Then maybe it's in the organization's best interest to lose this upcoming series. The Brewers should be sellers, not buyers.
  15. BTW DB, i didn't know you posted here? I thought you stuck to RealGM. Eh, been a lurker since I joined 6 years ago.
  16. My younger sister has it. It doesn't sound like it's a ton different from the normal flu. I was told that 40% of the population could get it by the time all is said and done.
  17. Sorry to hear about that Dude. My first thought was pet insurance as well. I've always been a cat guy and 95% of the time he's been in doors. Not a lot can go wrong with those little dudes. I like to think there would be no price too high to keep him healthy but I guess I don't know until I'm in that situation.
  18. So then why did you kill him and toss him on the couch?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif LOL, I was just gonna take a pic on the camera phone and no joke, he saw it and immediately snapped to that pose.

  20. I've yet to write to a sports journalist for a major Wisconsin paper and not get a response. I received an email from Hunt yesterday evening, in fact. These guys don't mind talking and debating sports with the casual or hard-core fan. Just don't write the Magna Carta and, when possible, provide information they can use or appreciate. Above all else be respectful and well written.
  21. Most of the good advice has been doled out. I don't agree with much of it, but in the end everyone is different and what works for some people at some schools doesn't work for others. But I will share what I've found to be the single most important thing I gleaned from my years in college: Learn to communicate. Take writing and grammar classes above the 101s and 120s. Take a class on group discussion. Take a speech class or two. I can't stress enough the benefit to being able to write and speak well. When you graduate and begin applying for jobs, in many cases you'll have to provide a cover letter and resume or perhaps a personal essay. Other applicants will provide similar credentials, but what will help you get a foot in the door is how well you write and interview. I've applied for four jobs since college ended and gotten each one. In one case the president of the company decided I was going to be the man for the job before ever meeting me for an interview. He was set to make me an offer simply because I wrote a sparkling cover letter and spoke well on the phone. Never-mind that I was applying to be a multimedia developer; I wouldn't have to write a thing for most of my day-to-day activities. If you can write and are comfortable, confident and natural speaking in front of others it will go a long way towards gaining employment after your schooling is complete.
  22. Usually just a strict Johnsonville, take them out of the package and throw 'em on the grill, guy. I do, on occasion, use that recipe you've probably seen on the Shop the Pig recipe commercials. Very, very tasty. Italian Sausages * 6 Johnsonville Italian sausages (pre-cooked) * 1 jar Ragu sauce * 1 red pepper cut into strips * 1 yellow pepper cut into strips * 1 pablano pepper cut into strips * 1/2 red onion cut into strips * 1 Tablespoon chopped garlic * 6 brat buns * 1/2 cup fresh shredded parmesan cheese Saute the vegetables and garlic with a little oil. When they start to caramelize, add the sausages. When sausages start to brown, add sauce and simmer for about 4-5 minutes. Serve on buns with cheese sprinkled on top.
