How come with all of our "farm depth" we can never get a pitcher like a Liriano? Instead, we get the Hendrickson's and Eveland's of the world. I have a pretty good feeling we won't be doing much in terms of offense during innings 1-5. If we win tonight it will be the come from behind variety, haven't seen enough of those this year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
And who are we gonna have pitch? Demaria? Lehr? Our "long" relievers are a joke. Let's face it, as long as we have Eveland and Hendrickson in our rotation we're never going to win more than 3 games in a row. And god help us if we lose when Cappy, Bush, or Davis are on the mound since we've got no one to pick us up from the 4th or 5th spots.
Closers ALWAYS come in with a lead of 3 or less runs. Now if you're saying that since Turnbow had pitched the last three games and he needed rest, then I agree but otherwise Turnbow's coming in ten times outta ten.
My fear is that even if we get lucky enough to score 5 on Pedro that DD and the bullpen will give up 8. I have very little confidence in our pitching right now outside of both Cappy's, Wise, and Turnbow.
I think we're all still mulling over last night's game in our heads. It was a really tough loss and now we get to face Pedro on retro Sunday....not a whole lot of optimism from my perspective.
This loss sucks because it's an almost automatic two game losing streak now. I don't think we have a prayer tomorrow. We'll be lucky to get 2 runs off Pedro and I'll be shocked if Davis can hold them down. And it's retro day as well...we all know how that goes.
Anyone think Sanchez might have wanted to get thrown out? I know it sounds stupid, but the Mets had no one up in the pen and now they get to use all the time they want to warm up a new pitcher. I know it's a stretch but you never know.
If we don't fare well in the next two games, well, I don't know what will happen. Bottom line, we're back home, we face two pretty bad pitchers the next two games and we should win two games in this series.
