  1. Just got back from the game as well. It sure seemed like there were more than 35k there. The 5 HR inning was unreal. Almost comical. Pretty cool to see something in person that will probably never happen again in Brewers history. Now if we could only get the Brewers to play like this on a more consistent basis. Games like today always make me think maybe this team can get to 88 wins. Can't let up tomorrow, gotta get the split!
  2. Not to sound overly dramatic here, but if the Brewers don't win today I think a lot of people are gonna be turned off by this team. I'm not talking about the die-hards on this board, but all the people who took notice of the 5-0 start to watch this team go 3-10 after that. I can't tell you how many people I've heard saying "same old Brewers" or "until they actually start winning I could care less" over the last few week. A decent crowd last night saw and absolute dud of game for the Crew. There's gonna be a huge crowd at the game today and if the Brewers don't turn it around, a lot of people will leave Miller Park today with the same bad taste in their mouth's as they've experienced with the last 15 years of bad baseball.
  3. I guess you're right about Bush's last start...9 hits over 6 innings makes me feel like he wasn't that sharp though. There were baserunners all over the place in that game.
  4. Anyone else have a bad feeling about the rest of this series? Bush has been less than sharp since his first start and Davis has turned to crap recently. I don't feel comfortable with either of those guys going against the Reds offense when we need to win both games just to get a split. This series kinda reminds me of that four game series in Pittsburgh a couple years ago where we got swept. I remember thinking about that series: "We should be able to win three outta four here." Then it was, "well at least win two out of the last three." Followed by "we really have to win the last two to gain a split." Then, "well at least win one out of four for crying out loud!" and "we just got swept by the Pirates?!" Not trying to jump on the pessemist bandwagon, but I could easily see us losing the next two and then....well we'll cross that bridge if it gets to that point.
  5. I think the same thing every day, yet I'm back every day. Glutton for punishment I guess.
  6. Does anyone else dislike 4 game series? Maybe this is just speaking from a Brewers point of view (i.e. a losing point of view over the years), but it seems nearly impossible to win a 4 game series. Especially if you lose the first game, the best you can hope for is a split. Maybe it's just becasue I'm looking at this series thinking if we lose tonight we've got no chance to win the next three. Don't know the point of this post, just thought I'd share. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  7. .390 NED?!?! What will it take for you to move this guy up in the lineup?
  8. Is anyone else a little worried about the bullpen? Helling and Kolb are hurt, Wise pitches every other day, and Lehr, JDLR, Cappellan, etc. are an absolute crapshoot. In other words, if our pitching rotation for a game doesn't go starting pitcher, Wise, Turnbow then I'm worried. Geez, first it was the hitting that stunk and now the pen, I guess that means we know whats gonna go next.
  9. What was the deal with the leadoff single for the Reds? Was it a good call by the ump? Bad play by the Crew? Gotta love these non-televised games.
  10. Excellent game tonight, just what the doctor ordered. Brewers can come back home on a good note and like I said earlier in the thread, we won one game in each series on the road vs. three very good teams. If a series @StL was surrounded by road trips to Pittsburgh and Washington I don't think anyone would complain about one win against the Cards. It just happened to be that we had three very tough series in a row. The only downer (and you can look at this two ways) is that we lost, in my eyes, 4 winnable games on the trip. It's disappointing that the Brewers didn't win another in Houston or NY but hopefully in time we'll learn how to pull those games out. So now we're 8-7, the bats seem to be heating up, and we've got a nice homestand coming up. Let's take care of business and end April on the sunny side of .500.
  11. This is a pretty important game tonight...win tonight and we go 3-6 on this road trip. 3-6 doesn't sound too nice but when you think about it, I wouldn't expect to win more than one game during a three game series at STL, NYM, or Houston anyways. I just don't want to come home under .500. It's not like the Reds are chopped liver either.
  12. Hey mark, I know you want to join Ralph in piling on my comments but that one about Miller didn't belong to me. FWIW, losing tonight had nothing to do with Miller coming up with 2 outs in the ninth.
  13. This comeback means nothing unless the team uses the momentum on offense to win tomorrow and beat up the Reds this weekend. I'm sorry, but if we can't translate all these runs into "W's" then they're good for nothing but padding stats.
  14. What was wrong with my post Ralph??? Do you not agree with it? Man, give it up.
  15. If we lose I'm gonna be FRIGGIN SICK. Way to go Lehr & Co. .
  16. I meant that tounge-in-cheek. Page through the last 14 pages of this thread and you'll see tons of negative posts, yet the same people get called out each day. Oh well, I can take it.
  17. If you don't wanna read it, don't. If you think I'm "baiting" people, then don't respond. And of course, as usual I'm the only one who is negative on the board.
  18. Of course Hall didn't get a hit there since that's when we really needed one. Gotta love these moral victory games! But hey, at least we're battling! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. So now that it's a game and the pressure is back on, how do they respond? We shall see....
  20. Alright...just win the dang game now!!!
  21. You've got to be kidding me!!! Are you trying to torture me Brewers???
  22. Ok, this crap is making me sick. I know this sounds ridiculous to complain about scoring runs, but we've now got 8 runs and we're still gonna lose. Where the heck is all this hitting when we actually need it?! Watch 'em lose 12-11 and that horrible error by Weeks in the bottom of the 7th will come back to haunt them. Or watch us tie the game and have Houston win in the bottom of the 9th....ugh. Man, if you would have told me that we'd score 7 and 8 runs the first two games in this series and lose... What next? Will Cappy throw a no-hitter tomorrow and lose 1-0?
  23. Love to see all these meaningless hits/runs to pad our stats. This is how our hitting stats manage to look respectable throughout the year while our team still stinks. It wouldn't shock me if we put up 10 runs tonight since it doesn't matter.
  24. Just because we're the Brewers. Because in a year when everything is suppose to turn our way, something will come up and bite us in the butt. Because in the last 10 days, we've won TWO games. And because for whatever reason, the Brewers never seem to get the job done. Concrete answers they are not, but that's what I'm thinking right now.
  25. I give the Brewers about a .0001% chance of winning tonight. Of course the other time I said that this season was vs. Jeff Suppan in STL.
