  1. Gotta love non-televised games in the Milwaukee area. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif Looks like we'll see JDLR today.
  2. Why, oh why, does every little tidbit of thought regarding any game have to be put in the "in-game" thread? I realize the moderators of this board what to keep it neat and tidy around here, but it really is annoying. I come home from the game last night and I want to read about what everyone thought about the win. There are about 3 new topics on the Major Leagues page and a 25 page thread about the game. So when I want to see what everyone's thinking about the hole in Fielder's bat, I have to sift through 25 pages of mostly "Yessssss!!!!!" and "GABE GROSS IS MY HERO!!!" type posts just to find some stuff on Prince. Wouldn't it be better if we left the game thread for an actual online depiction of the game, i.e., Cappy strikes out McLouth, next batter flies to right, etc.? That way we could have more than three new threads on the main board for each game. It would make it much more easier to navigae this board.
  3. Thank you!!!! I've always wondered what the name of the old Brewers radio intro song was and now I know! I thought I heard it on an oldies station before but could never track down the title. If anyone would like to post an mp3, that'd be really cool. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

  5. You just know the Brewers are going to lay an egg tomorrow. They beat Beckett and Burnett but they'll get shut out by Valdez. Prove me wrong Brewers! Can you imagine the buzz in the air if the Brewers are .500 with Sheets pitching against the Braves Friday night?
  6. Bottom line is we just gotta win tomorrow. I don't think anyone is going to lose sleep with the Crew losing two of three to the Cardinals. If we're a game under .500 after tomorrow, great...win two from Cincy and we're back to even. Heck, with some luck and a Brewer win tomorrow we might still be four games back in the wild card. This series surely doesn't make or break the season, but a loss tomorrow (sending us to 3 games under) will really, really hurt.
  7. How many runs/games would a guy like Andrew Jones save for us playing CF? We have seen some of the worst defensive CF's in baseball over the course of the last few years. I think I've seen enough this season to say that despite our offensive woes, it's defense that seperates this years team from what it is now and the playoffs. (Then again, two hits just isn't gonna cut it against the best team in the NL).
  8. Well, at least we won't have to experience the agony of a close loss. This is the part of the game where the Cards decide they're sick of toying with us and put up a five-spot.
  9. Man this is hard to watch. St. Louis does everything right. And when the rarity occurs that they do make a mistake they make up for it ten-fold with good plays.
  10. Ok, who thinks we'll have a runner in scoring position the rest of the game?
  11. I hate playing the Cardinals. They always seem to be a step better than us. Better pitching, better hitting, better defense, they get more calls from the umps...it's so frustrating to watch. And then on top of it all, they have their "B" team out there! Man, I'm just hoping to win one in this series and take our chances against the rest of the NL.
  12. I just checked in to see if anyone else thought the same thing. With LaRussa on the Cardinals bench you can guarantee someone's gonna get hit (intentionally) for the Crew.
  13. There should be no talk of the wild card while we are presently under .500. Unless you're in the NL West, below .500 means you have no business thinking about playoffs... .500 or above, anything goes.
  14. I know the feeling seems to change every other day, but am I the only one who is ready for the season to be over??? How many more of these games can we take? And until we officially concede that the season is over and we won't get to .500 these types of games will be just as painful. Being a Brewers fan is just so freakin' annoying. I'm sure that it's just a matter of time before the Brewers totally collapse.
  15. You mean 52-56. We are already throwing in the towel on tomorrow's Santos vs. Pedro matchup.
  16. Is there anything worse than extra inning games on the road? If you don't score, you know you have to play another inning and a half at a minimum to get the win.
  17. Baseball season is too long...I can't take: - hearing "Wes Helms is __ for __ as a pinch hitter this year (cue graphics of major league pinch hit leaders)" every time Wes comes to the plate. - hearing Schroeder say "a little too close to take with two strikes" on a pitch that was 8 inches outside. - Sutton's favorite: "Rickie Weeks has now hit in 37 of his 56 big league games." I guess the silver lining of not caring in August is not having to hear the same things every night.
  18. Heck no....one, I'm showing off my brilliant sense for forecasting the future ( http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif ) and two, the more I talk about it, the more I expect it and prepare for it, and then when it does I'm not quite as disappointed. As scoop said, just start expecting a loss and if they win it's that much better.
  19. I said it earlier....countdown to it coming true....5, 4, 3...
  20. I was thinking the same thing too. EVERY TIME he starts going on and on about "this guy hasn't walked anyone in a month" or "that guy hasn't hit a HR in a year...." and it happens. Why can't he say that the Mets have won 30 straight when tied in the ninth?!?
  21. How long have you been a Brewer fan? I like your optimism but the Brewers don't win games like this on the road, especially vs. the East. We NEVER play well at NYM or Philly....tonight is just a glimpse of what you will see all week.
  22. This has all the makings of a Mets walk-off win in the ninth....they seem to get at least one of those against us every time we come to Shea. I'd say we have about a 10% chance of winning this game.
