  1. Vizcaino has a sub 3.00 era. He's a good reliever, but I'd like to see him dealt, as our bullpen hasn't been a problem and he gives up too many home runs for my tastes.
  2. Why can't Jenks swing like last year? 2003: AVG OBP SLG OPS 296 .375 .538 .913 It makes me sad. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Before the season I thought he might hit 40 home runs.
  3. By the way, it looks like Kolb and Sheets will see action in the All-Star game. I didn't think this needed its own thread. MLB.com "He said he'd probably use [sheets] for an inning, but if he needed to use him for two, that'd be alright," Yost said, adding that McKeon would do everything possible to also get Kolb into the game as well. "He also said to tell [Lyle] Overbay that he was big-time considered, but there was nothing he could do with all those first basemen," Yost said. "He sure wished he could have taken him, but it just didn't work out that way. I thought that was nice." JR Radcliffe is a contributor to MLB.com. This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs.
  4. This is getting to be ridiculous. This team is no contender. I'll gladly eat my words once proven wrong, but I don't see that happenning.

Also, while reading the link to the cubs forum that batman supplied, I came across a few people who very much enjoyed Sutton and Schroeder. Another reason to hate Cubs fans, I guess.
  6. Great win. I too thought sending Davis back out in the eighth was curious. They could have used the opportunity to work the bullpen, and Davis had thrown plenty of pitches. I'm guessing here, but Davis seems like the kind of guy who Yost would let throw a higher amount of pitches, as compared to say, Ben Sheets. Counsell has been the man lately. Definitely underappreciated. Pods still struggling - needs to go the opposite way more. Grieve continues his stellar play. I'd rather get a catcher who can hit over .200 to replace Bennett than replace Grieve in RF. Davis has a better approach than Bennet at the plate. Pitching has been amazing. Mike Adams looked wicked. Good to see Bill Hall pumped up after the game. Too bad Brady Clark always gets pinch hit opportunities over him. Hopefully the momentum carries over into the Reds series.
  7. Hopefully Bennett gets a hit tonight.
  8. Capuano being prone to giving up home runs and all - I hope he doesn't get rocked tonight.
  9. Maybe I'm desensitized to various aspects of American culture, but that seems like a pretty tame comment.
  10. I also missed it. Feel free to delete this post. Someone please answer batman's question.
  11. It was a horrible move. It was downright stupid. But its due to the offense that we continue to lose, not the manager.
  12. When does the Arizona Brewers team start its season?
  13. It does disappoint me, losing these sweep opportunities. Hopefully the brewcrew can do some damage to the struggling Rockies.
  14. Also on a tangent - I thought Moneyball was horribly written. Perhaps the reason Billy Beane is criticized is because Michael Lewis portrayed him as being infallible. The author really irks me, probably due to his childish manner and undeserved writing acclaim. I caught an interview of his where he became irate and called someone a midget. batman, I have yet to see this unfair criticizing of Billy Beane that occurs ad hominen. Please point it out, because all I see is an offhand comment about him.
  15. I'm looking foward to watching Mauer tonight.
  16. It was good to see Sheets throwing a few changeups - he really fooled the hitter on a few of them. I know he's become an ace, but developing that pitch will only better himself.
  17. Thanks for the update giezer.
  18. I have to concur on the statement that Brad Nelson is a bona fide hitter.
  19. I'm pleased with two out of three. Definitely didn't sting as much as losing the third to the Astros did. Hopefully we have a good series against the Twins.
  20. I wish FSN would broadcast every game. There can't be that much extra cost involved...
  21. Very good lineup for todays game. I fully expect a good performance.
  22. Not quite sure, Ajay. Don't want to jinx things, but it looks like a nice victory.
  23. Do you guys think that Overbay will see more teams intentionally walking him, as seen in the Astros series? He continues to burn the opposition in tight situations and the Brewers don't have an "efficient" number five hitter at the moment.
