Baseball players are historically very superstitious...so I guess the assumption is retro unis again? I remember that team well. They had that great late July run..went from 8 back to 2.5 back in a week. Never could quite get over the hump. Hung around the race for most of August, but eventually fell back http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIL/1997-schedule-scores.shtml
I agree. So Burns' next start will be Tuesday against Johan Santana? Eck... I stand corrected and will never doubt Mike Burns again! Very solid performance. Now take it to Lilly and the Cubs on Sunday..
Very True. I remember being at County Stadium for an opener in either 1997 or 98 against the Texas Rangers. Fans pelted the Rangers with souvenir opening day baseballs, which were given to all attendees. It was ugly. The Rangers manager did the same thing. Anyone remember this? I don't remember much from that day besides that, it was really cold and the Crew won.
Thanks Brian. I still wear my Brewerfan.com T-shirt with pride. Its kinda like owning a reto uni. I remember it well when you and the leadership made the jump from ESPN boards and other places to start this site. Its been a god-send ever since. I'm with you...Yo in the opener. If Dale goes with Soup I won't complain. Going with the only starter on the staff (not named CC) who's started a big playoff game makes some since.
I agree. I got more faith in McClung in the 8th the way he's dealing than Mota and even a Torres, who has pitched in 3 straight and 4 of the last 5. EDIT: RICKIEEEEE
Looking at this chart...Gorman looks to be dead-on. Maybe some light stuff early on..but the real heavy rain doesnt look to start until 10PM or even past midnight http://www.weather.com/ou...ports/hourbyhour/38720:20 Weather looks bad for Friday and Saturday, but clearing on Sunday. If Friday and Sat are cancelled. I'm guessing a doubleheader on Sunday and then a make-up game Monday??
I gotta admit this is some handy advice. I'm both an MLB Extra Innings and Sports Pack subscriber. My local Fox is showing Mets/Braves, so I figured I was definitely blacked out. If what you are telling me is true I'll be one happy camper.
Man in his last start, did the Crew really get 12 hits off Maholm but only score 2 runs? You gotta think if they can repeat a hit parade like that a little more offense will come around to score.
