  2. I imagine we'll see Gross again and given the way he's been swinging it these last 3 games. You can't complain about that. Wonder who it affects though...Hall or Hart?
  3. This team tattoos the ball. How are they not playing at least .500 baseball? I imagine they will be soon enough. Ugh.
  4. Man. Cappy's next start is against Aaron Harang. That just semells like #16. Capuano is one of my favorite Brewers. I hope he pulls thru. He did match Harang last time they matched up
  5. If this line-up can score runs in innings 3-7, I'll crown it "King of All 2007 Brewer Line-ups"!
  6. I think if your combine the Brewers 2001 2nd-half collapse (record after the sweep suit incident) with the whole 2002 season. I think the Brewers combined record over that period was like 30-200. Actually thats not even close, but it sure felt like it.
  7. Who was that crazy japanese reliever the Crew had in 2002? The guy was like 4 feet 8 and couldn't throw a strike for the his life.
  8. Well, for two days now we've had a little luck with lo-fi IGTs dedicated to teams and Brewer players of the very forgettable past. So today we're going to attempt to keep that going. This time it's a tribute to as brettac1 calls it, "the great memories of Izzy Alcantara's 32 AB run of terror as a Milwaukee Brewer in that magical season of 2002". Ah the memories…"Milwaukee Brewers centerfielder Alex Sanchez trotted over to Izzy Alcantara after the rightfielder fell on his face trying to make a play in the first inning Thursday at Miller Park, and the two shared a laugh" … "Alcantara, shaky in the field, had little chance to catch Mike Lieberthal's looping hit but dived for it anyway. His face hit the grass and the ball rolled past him for a triple that scored two runs for a 3-0 Phillies lead. Brewers manager Jerry Royster said he didn't notice his outfielders' chuckles, but added that "those two shouldn't be laughing about diddly-squat."" http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=68305 Diddly-Squat? Sometimes I wonder how did we all survive the Jervey Lopster days?? So now go ahead and post your favorite picture, video, or story of Izzy. It's his day!
  9. Ted Simmons was/is my favorite Brewer of all-time. Injustice is definitely the right word.
  10. Tonight Cappy Throws Like Two Thousand Zero Zero Five Oops, Party Over???
  11. Is it a Haiku-Night for the IGT? I guess we need to try something? Chris' Keys to Success Change-up Change-Up Fastball Change Curve Change Change Fast Change
  12. Exactly. He's the sacrifical lamb tonight. With on off-day Thursday we can skip/push back Vargas' next start.
  13. Vargas? You picked a bad time to become awful.
  14. Agreed. We'll need at least 6 from Vargas and then Rubber-arm Shouse and Spruls will need to be used to get the ball to Linebrink. Coco, Turnbow, Wise and possibly even Parra (still think he's feeling the effect of that 6 1/3 game) should not be used today. I'd even give Coco minimum 2 to 3 days off after throwing 40 pitches yesterday and pitching in 3 consecutive games. Given that Claudio didn't even get thru the 3rd in his start, you gotta hope the guy has a little extra in the tank tonight. You almost have to make this a take one for the team start. 7 innings minimum or 120 pitches whatever comes first no matter the score. Also I'm going to be cheering that the Brewers don't score any runs in the 1st. Thats seems to be taboo nowadays.
  15. I was hoping for a Joe Dillion start. I bet he starts on Wednesday. With the Thursday off-day Ned will like the idea of giving Braun two consecutive days off
  16. I like this thinking and agree. Just take the series. Plus the Brewers don't sweep teams. Thats just not their style. Heck I can't remember any sweeps since the Nationals in early May? Nonetheless, Hamels vs. Bush thats a tough match-up. Probably 20-80 percent of winning going in. We all knew that. Bush needed to be perfect and he knew that going in. So I'd say Bushy likely pressed a bit much trying to be too fine. Shouse is unreal nowadays.
  17. Get Dessens up! Oh, nevermind. Who's the long-man tonight?
  18. Yuck. Hopefully Hamels is a tad off tonight.
  19. I'm with you brewerdude. I saw Vargas vs. Perez as the match-up and thought... 'Man thats going to be a tough one to get' Lets get the series on Thursday. Cappy has been improving and thrown nothng but quality starts since the break. Keep that up and get the guy a much needed victory.
  20. The Crew can take this series tomorrow against Brian Lawrence? Really? I had no idea Lawrence was even in the Mets organization? When did that happen? Thank you Manny Parra! Great performance.
  21. Watching Yo and Parra take the ball every 5 days next year is going to be fun.
