  1. "They should get rid of the penny and create a 5 cent piece. That would make more sense. " What would make more sense than the above is the fact that there already is a five cent piece.
  2. I, for one, loved my high school years. It was a blast.
  3. I was his age once. I also had a part-time job around that time. I found that I always got a refund in excess of what he needs for his trip. There is an earned income tax credit or something like that which will help anyone who makes under ~12K/yr, which may or may not be the case.
  4. Another way - do your taxes.
  5. One thing I noticed while glancing at that article: the most dominant pitcher of the recent era, with a long career full of mostly injury free years in my opinion is Roger Clemens. His estimated pitch count for his career? ~68,000. Cy Young? ~107,000.

  7. And then there are the fine examples of Cy Young and Walter Johnson, etc, who pitched more in half a season than most pitchers nowadays do in two years...

  9. Go to a temp agency, such as Spherion or any other one like them. They are always waiting to give people jobs of just about any type. Look at it this way - it is their job to get you a job. It's an easy way to get a foot in at a new company. I was actually hired on as a temp at Harley-Davidson back in 2002; they liked how I worked as a temp and then hired me on as a full-time official employee. So basically just because you start as a temp doesn't mean it has to end that way. Good luck.
  10. The way everyone else does - get a job.
  11. Obiwan Kenobi (sp)
  12. Where is the electricity for your TV and DVD player coming from on this island? Is this Lost? I'd want Caddyshack. And Cast Away for the irony.
  13. I actually have the majority of my Frequent Flier miles through Northwest. While I can understand some of the angst against them, I honestly don't think they are any worse than the rest of the airlines. They all pretty much stink. Here's a rough estimate of my miles: Northwest: 45,000 US Airways: 35,000 Delta: 30,000 Midwest: 25,000 Continental: 25,000 Airtran: they use 'credits' or something like that, not miles. My guess is around 20,000 miles. United: 20,000 American: 15,000 Frontier: 12,000 Southwest: 5,000 Mexicana: 2,000 All of these were accumulated in the last 3 years. I feel that this gives me a little bit of experience with the state of air travel as it is today. All said, I would still go for the cheapest flight, regardless of airline - unless Midwest or Frontier were within $20 of the cheapest flight. Midwest and Frontier are by far #1 in my book. Airtran comes right behind them, then Northwest and Continental. My Mexicana miles were pretty nice actually - they gave me a FREE meal which was better than anything I've ever paid for from an American airline. Trust me - having a 100% travel job is an easy way to get sick of airlines, any and all of them. One week you could be pissed off about cancellations or delays with one airline, next week it is a problem with customer service with another airline. Might as well spin the wheel with the cheapest option.
  14. I already googled Taint McFadden. It's a mythical creature only known to be talked about on this very website.
  15. http://www.yuengling.com/ You can find it in most bars and other drinking establishments around the northeastern part of the US.
  16. Nothing in SE Wisconsin can battle with the selection at Discount Liquor. And if you like Fat Tire, you will like Yuengling as well. Yuengling is the oldest brewery in the US, it's somewhere in eastern Pennsylvania.
  17. I got to do that too, with the laptop that the company bought for me. On top of that, they let me keep it when I stopped working for them. As well as the $600 HTC Mogul Cellphone, and more than that worth of tools. They treated me pretty well. The trick was, if I wanted to post on Brewerfan from 'work', I needed to set up the wireless internet in the hotel where I was working before I could get online. So I had incentive to get my job done as quickly as possible. Internet addiction will do that to you.
  18. I was gonna say Dennis Rodman.
  19. I know that...never tried it though. Even though it isn't really the porpoise, I would feel almost like a cannibal.
  20. If you ever go to San Diego, stop by Ocean Beach off of the 8 and hit a bar/grill called South Beach. They have the absolute best Mahi Mahi tacos I've ever had. They also have shark tacos, dolphin tacos, calamari tacos, and more; I found none to be nearly as good as the Mahi Mahi. They also have a huge selection of micro brews on tap, not to mention a clear view of the Pacific from the bar. So I guess to answer this thread, I like Mahi Mahi.
  21. "I woulda double-bagged it."
  22. "MPS needs to crack down on truants by holding their parent's or guardian's" Yes, students should go to school so they realize that the words parents and guardians used in that context do not need an apostrophe.
  23. Which the drumsticks included, I could down 5 chickens worth if I were hungry.
