  1. Does anyone have a link for a website that follows the draft, but doesn't auto update? My company watches the number of hits and will call you out on things like that. I would like to be able to look in at the draft every :30 or so so I can keep track of what is going on, but not get in trouble. Any help is appreciated.
  2. Funny to see that Prince had 14 no doubters, and 12 just enoughs...top 5 in each category.
  3. Dr. Wood...I understand that 1200 a month all year is less than 1500 a month for 7 months...but it was just my job. Yes, I did have tuition paid for...but again, school was my job, I was not allowed any other job. I did get health care, but nothing like what a ball player gets. No, I did not get any meals (except the occasional bagel and soda at a presentation). I guess you can call it cheap entertainment to get student prices at basketball or football games...but on $1200 a month it isn't really that cheap. I had to pay for rent, car, food, transportation, everything with that. Plus, I had no oportunity to make overtime, or have a little better paying job for 5 monbths out of the year. I was stuck with what I had...or quit the program.
  4. When I was at Grad school at Purdue 4 years ago I made less that $1200 a month...and had absolutely nothing comped for me. It wasn't easy, but I wouldn't say I was destitute either...I just could go out quite as often as I might have liked too. $1500 seems pretty good for a 20 year old kid who is playing baseball. Certainly not excessive, but definitely manageable.
  5. Most likely. I know that there are ways around it, but according to MLB rules yes, your game will be blacked out.
  6. I agree...the stadium is definitely not a dump. As far as seats go, I prefer the right field bleachers...as close to the field as I can get. Stay out of the right field corner upper deck by the foul pole. Of course if you sit in the outfield it can be hard to see the scoreboard and video board as well. I have been to many games there over the last 1.5 years and have never had a problem with fans or anything, so that is cool to.
  7. I live in Houston, and will most likely be going to at least one of the games. Send me a message sometime closer to the date and we will set something up. Is there anyone else???
  8. It is funny to me that there is no mention of a Bill Hall trade. I see him, and Cappy moving this year. Capuano doesn't have horrible stats, just could get a win, and Hall is one year removed from a monster year...and both have been replaced down this stretch run. That tells me that the manager has lost confidence in them. Hall has also started complaining about his playing time. These two should provide some good currency for filling our holes elsewhere. Could we get a big bat LF for a power hitting SS and a former 18 game winner...I think so. Probably a good LF and a RP.
  9. Lets give some props to my boy Adam Heether...has his average up to 296, and is even beginning to hit extra-base hits again. He has really been on a tear lately. He was one of the guys I used to check first in the box scores...nice to see him becomming a factor again.
  10. I believe Dunn's option is voided if he is traded, just so you know.
  11. It wasn't tacky...it was intentional. I was watching the game on TV here in Houston and Bagwell was in the booth a few innings earlier saying that his 3000th hit was definitely going to be a double...that he was going to second no matter what. I am sure he wasn't going to second no matter what, but he had already decided that if there was any reasonable way to make his 3000th a double he was going for it. Yeah, it might have been a stupid and a little selfish (especially in a close game), but I am sure he had been thinking about it for so long that he couldn't have stopped himself if he tried. Congrats to Craig...he has always been a class guy...and I loved how he pulled Bagwell out to help him celebrate. Bagwell has really gotten a bad rap around here and he doesn't deserve it.
  12. I love MLB.tv...I am so glad I can watch this game tonight!!! Go Yo!!!! And go Brewers!!!!
  13. Well, I haven't cleared out any voting kiosks, but I have been to 3 games recently here in Texas (both Arlington and Houston), and have spent much of the early parts of the games punching out ballots...I didn't go straight Brewers as I try to be somewhat objective, but Fielder, Hardy, and Hart (my personal favorite) each got about 1000 extra votes...nice to see that some of my effort has paid off!!!!
  14. Huntsville up 2-1 in the 8th...Come on Stars!!!!
  15. Not that it would have mattered tonight, but why are Counsell and Graffanino batting 1-2? Are we trying to lose?
  16. Odd that we haven't taken a pitcher yet.
  17. Remember...blue text means sarcasm Everybody here is amazed at how good that West Virginia Power team is.
  18. Can we just promote this entire West Virginia team? The hitters at least? They just can't seem to be stopped!
  19. Chris Oxspring with 8 strikeouts in 4 innings so far...that gives him more strikeouts than innings pitched, and about a 2:1 strikeout to walk ratio. He is 30, so not exactly a prospect, but he is putting up some decent numbers. Edit: Beat you by an eyelash Mass http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Man I hate how it seems like the entire crowd is cheering for every one of Prince's swing and misses, and his eventual flyout there in the ninth. Will we ever be able to drown out these damn Cub fans in our own stadium? It just sickens me.
  21. So when does Darren Ford get promoted? He has done nothing but rake. He can still work on cutting down his strikeouts at Brevard.
  22. Yep...and Inman being Inman...I love this kid!
  23. Nice to see Mike Jones have another good outing.
  24. I wish I could listen, unfortunately I am at work. Does anyone know where to find the minor league record for number of steals by a team? This team steals more basis than any I can remember. I wonder if they can make a "run" at that record?
