  1. the thing is, with all of the off days in the postseason schedule there's really no need to try and steal outs to save the bullpen. The change should have been made before the inning, hopefully takashi can limit the damage.
  2. I am normally one of the slowest to criticize Roenicke AND I am a huge fan of Greinke and would usually vote for leaving him in under most circumstances.......but i do not agree with this decision. at all.
  3. i probably would have hit for greinke....im comfortable with 8 runs but definitely wouldn't mind more. Even though they may have left a run out there, as long as Zack makes it through this inning unscathed the decision was fine.
  4. Yep 3-runs is insurmountable. You should probably go do something else the rest of the afternoonplease go do something else. third time through the order here, gotta put a few up and get into that pen.
  5. it's really unbelievable. even the meatballs that don't get hit hard seem to carry out.
  6. the shift only tends to get noticed when it doesn't work. i'm sure the data is somewhere, but I feel like throughout the course of the season it helped more than it hurt.
  7. Brewers in 6, Greinke is a monster, wins a huge game 5 in STL to give the Crew the series lead and the Crew finishes the job against Carpenter on short rest in 6. W L W L W W
  8. I live in Atlanta, I'm well aware of the Braves collapse. They scored 7 runs in those last 5 games. It was historically bad, and obviously the Cardinals couldn't have made the playoffs without it. But the Cardinals still deserve a ton of credit for closing the way they did. Yuck, that's two nice posts about the cardinals now.
  9. 1-7 with a 5.66 ERA Their BA against him is only .234, but he's given up 13 HR in 11 starts vs. STL
  10. The Cardinals still had to go 16-5 down the stretch, which is pretty impressive. Not to take anything away from the Braves spectacular collapse.
  11. the series of pictures in that ESPN link that are taken from above are just fantastic.

  15. same here. I'm fine with Loe or Hawkins. or just winning it in the 10th, i guess.

  17. if it goes to 10, I vote for bringing Ax back out. if RRR decided to go with Hawk it would not be a problem with me...but I say Ax again.
