  1. the first sign of trouble was a walk to Holliday (and I think someone was warming up after that). An error and an infield hit were the other two baserunners. Zack did a great job that inning
  2. come on jaime. hang it. we all know what you're thinking about in the back of your head. you can't shake it. you can't keep that ball down. hang it.
  3. It was not part of the plan no. Sorry for being optimistic and believing in the team. Do you feel like a better person now for calling me out on this? Seriously people, continue to give up. It's worked a few times for the Crew already this series (does anyone remember the last time Garcia was cruising and the lineup turned over for the 3rd time through?). It's not looking as good as it did an hour or so ago, but there's still 5 innings left tonight and then some games in milwaukee. calm. down. I hope this is part of the plan. And I don't think my post stated anything about giving up. i was lumping you in with the crowd already giving up. led by the guy who thinks the brewers should have started Narveson and saved Greinke for game 6 because the Brewers were probably going to lose anyway. You did not imply giving up (but your post did come off kind of snarky, I don't think I'm the only one who read it like that), sorry for insinuating that you did. and thank you, corey. it's about time. keep it going Hairston, make up for it.

  5. You are defending Hart's defense. I bet 3/4s of RFs get that. Hart didn't have to move much. He just didn't execute. He did a horrible job of getting into position to make the play. I hope the Brewers consider moving Gamel to RF and Hart to 1b next season. Because I don't know how much longer Hart is going to cut it out there.I guess I'm kind of defending it if you want to be technical. But I'm more saying it was a very well hit ball than saying Hart is a good defender (not something I ever said or will ever say). Of course I wish Hart made that play, but I would say more RF would not make that play than would. You don't, which is fine. Agree to disagree. Not worth getting into, there are bigger fish to fry at the moment. Garcia looks very very good so far...hopefully his third time through the order is as unsuccessful as last time.
  6. yes, don't run your best available pitcher out there. Let's just sacrifice the game and count on winning two straight elimination games!
  7. I understand that Hart could have caught that ball, but it really shouldn't be expected to catch a line drive that hits the top of the wall. I don't know many right fielders in the game who make that play. A few would have, but it's not a catch you can expect to be made. Not defending Hart's defense here, that ball in game 3 was absolutely catchable and I would agree with the people who don't quite understand how his defense/speed has gone so far south. But that was a very well hit ball and a difficult play.
  8. Before the series started, I posted in the prediction thread that the series would be 2-2 and a monster performance from Greinke would send the Crew back to Milwaukee with the lead. I stand by that statement. He's a special talent, and when he puts it all together he's one of the best pitchers in the league. I think tonight he has one of those games that will be special for Brewers fans for many many years. I do think he will give up a HR in the game, so hopefully it is of the solo variety and not the 3-run kind that have haunted him all year. I'll shoot the middle and say it's a 2 run shot (and if I'm going to get specific and continue to throw out baseless projections, I'll say Freese hits it). 7 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 11 K and most importantly, a W. The crew wins again, 4-2.
  9. Garcia had a a 2.64 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP in September. The crew beat him up in the 5th inning last week, but he ended the season very well (and was solid v. Philly in round 1). Regardless, let's beat him up again.
  10. and since this IS the optimism thread, I'll add this. After losing Monday, I think most of us would have been content with a 2-2 series. Well, the odds of Wolf beating Lohse are just as good as those of Yo beating Carpenter. They let one slip through last night, and it sucked something fierce.....but the game tonight is very winnable.
  11. Pitch selection? What? Obviously the results have been different.Marcum has been throwing significantly fewer changeups and breaking pitches recently than he has throughout the season. I think is change up % has been cut in half. He's not keeping anyone off balance with his offspeed pitches...and a guy who's fastball tops out where Marcum's does can't really afford to have hitters sitting on it.
  12. they may have just known the result before it happened once mcgehee was announced. it was fairly predictable.
  13. i could see them saving gomez for a situation where they pinch hit counsell, TLR counters with a lefty, and then gomez hits. not saying it's right, but thats probably the reasoning.
  14. sorry. combining the people saying gomez would have caught everything with the people saying 5 outs were necessary. my bad, didn't mean to get snarky...at this point it's a little to easy to do that though. *bows in forgiveness* still doesn't let Yo off the hook, he pitched poorly that inning. It wouldn't have been so bad if RR would of stated something other than playing Kotsay because of a hunch.no doubt. i'm not defending Kotsay playing by blaming Yo as well. Just acknowledging that he didn't look good. Hopefully he calms down...plenty of baseball left.
  15. sorry. combining the people saying gomez would have caught everything with the people saying 5 outs were necessary. my bad, didn't mean to get snarky...at this point it's a little too easy to do that though. *bows in forgiveness* still doesn't let Yo off the hook, he pitched poorly that inning.
  16. stop saying that gallardo had to get 5 outs that inning. Pujols crushed that double, and it would have been a double against just about any defense.
  17. Yo walked 3 batters and gave up 3 solid hits. don't let him off the hook. he did not pitch well. he can still turn it around, but he has plenty of fault for that first inning.
