  1. Seriously, the next time someone complains about the price of Brewers tickets (or that they have to pay $50 for an Opening Day ticket) I'm going to be sick. The service charge/taxes/fees of two upper deck tickets at Wrigley costs almost as much as the tickets themselves at Miller Park. Four bleacher seats for Cubs Opening Day (which are currently available) are $300! Heck, I'm selling two of my season tickets in the terrace for $1000!!! That's 2 tickets to all 81 games compared to three games in the bleachers at Wrigley. UNREAL. Just goes to show that the Brewers really are one of the most fan friendly experiences in all of sports.
  2. The Brewers are "in it" the same way the Pirates are still in contention. Yes, it could happen, but it won't.
  3. I am going to go out on a limb and say the Brewers lose for the 8th consecutive Sunday game. Not that it really matters anymore.
  4. Started out 26-15. Since then, 22-32. Obviously the three big differences between this year and last are no CC, lack of production off the bench and lack of production from Hardy. Last year on this day, Hardy was hitting .294 with an OPS of .890!!! And the bench of Kapler, Durham, Counsell and Branyan is a tad more productive than the automatic outs we have coming off the bench now in Gerut, Hall and Catalanatto. When comparing the performance of this year's team to last year's, outside of the differences mentioned above, everything else is pretty similar or in favor of this year's club. Makes you wonder if getting Halladay might get us over the top after seeing what a stud like CC did last year. One interesting note after looking at last year's results...the Brewers when 4-15 from September 1st to the 20th. I don't remember them being that awful. I guess that was the "low point" of last year, hopefully it turns out the same!
  5. You don't know what WOBA is??? I'll fill you in...make up an acronym, tie some numbers to it and pretend you know what you are talking about. No one will question you because they don't want to look stupid. For instance, OPSDGWS (on base % plus slugging in day games with shadows). Very important stat.
  6. Am I missing something? What does playing half of his games in Arizona have to do with his ability to get on base?
  7. That makes 6 straight losses in Sunday games and brings our Sunday record to 4-10 overall for those of you scoring at home.
  8. If we wouldn't have traded TGJ in order to get Gerut, he would have been cut by now. He is 100% useless.
  9. Not really saying anything other than maybe Braun should back up his comments on the field if he is going to criticize the pitching. Yes, he's a great player and having another stellar year but it's time to step it up and he's done nothing this past week. A single in his last AB tonight would have been nice.
  10. Wow...pretty dumb move by DM if you ask me. If he has a problem with what Braun said he should have handled it internally, not going out to the press. He's basically chastising Braun for going public with his comments, then he does the same thing. Braun is the face of Milwaukee sports and a baseball star. Doug Melvin is....Doug Melvin. 75% of baseball fans probably have no idea who he is. Watch where you step, Doug.
  11. Didn't Braun just sign one of the most "hometown-friendly" contracts in all of baseball last year? Ryan has done a ton for this organization...I have no problem with him speaking out. With all of the parity in the NL, the big winner (outside of L.A.) is going to be the team that makes the biggest/best move before the deadline. Think about it, what if the Cardinals went out and got Cliff Lee next week. They'd run away with the division. Bottom line, if the Brewers are going to start playing with the big boys they have to start acting like it and make a big move. You won't hear Cubs/Cardinals/Dodgers/Phillies/Mets fans complaining about stuff like this.
  12. I love it. He's calling out his teammates who are (currently) killing this team. What's the worst that could happen? We go in the tank along with the rotation and don't make the postseason? That's going to happen anyways if we don't get another arm. As was published in the JS today, it sure would have been nice to have Doug Davis and his 7+ innings of 1 run baseball in each of his last three starts come in a Milwaukee uniform...I'm pretty sure that's the same type of thing Braun was thinking. And after last year, Braun and everyone else knows the importance of making the "big" trade as early as possible.
  13. Are umpire's perfect? No....but I for one could live with this if the umpire or MLB was allowed to say, "sorry - missed that one." To end a game in that fashion was/is disgusting. The ump must have wanted to beat the traffic before the fireworks in Chicago tonight.
  14. Unfortunately I won....was really hoping we'd go better than 12-16. Just goes to show how unpredictable baseball is. Who would have thought we'd get swept by the Rockies at home?
  15. That is an unbelievable stat that does not bode well for the Cubs series (2 of 4 day games).
  16. Record: 13-13 Tie: 19 Trade prediction: Welcome home Jarrod Washburn.
  17. No more Bill Hall, please. At what point do we bench him and play Gamel everyday? The guy is clueless at the plate...he's like Geoff Jenkins during one of his 6 week slumps - except he's been in the slump all season.
  18. To say our rotation is struggling is a supreme understatement. I'll be thrilled to get out of Detroit with one win.
  19. The situation sucks, but let's remember that if it were the Brewers that were up 7-4 we'd be saying how a 30 minute window is more than enough time to play a few innings.
  20. So we have three outs to tie the game or take the lead; either way the game will probably be washed away in the bottom half of the fifth. Basically, we have a .00001% chance of this game ending with a Brewers victory.
  21. I think the missing puzzle piece is Victor Martinez. Upgrading our C "situation" makes us AL-powerful. Probably'd have to bat Fielder 5th. Don't forget about Shin Soo-Choo!
  22. According to FSN, game will start again at 8:30. However it is still raining and there is lightning in the area. Huh??? It appears they are trying to get through another inning and then call it.
