  1. If things don't go well agains the Reds, their isn't a player on the team that doesn't deserve to get booed.
  2. 2002 was a cakewalk compared to this. How can you get more frustrated in 2002 when you knew we had a horrible team that had NO chance of making the postseason.
  3. If we lose 2 of 3 to Cincy and return home 3.5 out of the wild card you can expect about 15,000 (tops) at MP next Tuesday. I have four tickets to the Tues, Weds, and Thurs games and I won't be going if we're essentially out of the race.
  4. Like others have said, I get so sick of this team yet I always come back and at least watch parts of the games then get sucked back in when they win 2 in a row. What's really killing me is that this team will be a lot worse next year. No Sabathia, no Sheets (I know he's always hurt but still), and the same core of non-fundamentlly sound players. I think the luster of the Braun/Fielder/Hardy/Hart/Weeks class is wearing off. Not to say that some of they guys aren't going to be great MLB players but I can't fathom Doug Melvin being able to put together a better team than this years. And look where it's gotten us.....watching other teams celebrate in October.
  5. I had a long vent typed up and deleted it. I just don't know what to say anymore. I'm so sick of this franchise it's unreal. I say it every year, if I could snap my fingers and no longer be a Brewers fan I'd do it in HEARTBEAT. I hate being a fan.
  6. As much as that would kill our chances to make the postseason, it would be a fitting end for Sheets in Milwaukee.
  7. I won't feel good about anything until we win A FRIGGIN GAME. I don't care if the Mets lose 10 in a row, as long as we're losing every day I can't even think about the playoffs.
  8. Just curious, but if the "heads" side is heavier then wouldn't it land face down, thus making tails the winner? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. It looks like the possibility that all three games could be postponed with a doubleheader on Monday and then a game in Houston on 9/29 if it has playoff implications. A 9/29 game would be bad news for the Crew: -if Houston is playing for the wild card, the Cubs would basically play their scrubs and rest their regulars for the playoffs -if the Cubs need to win the game for the division, Houston would play their AAA guys just to get them some experience In other words, if a game is needed on 9/29, whoever "needs" that game to make the playoffs is going to get a free win. Then again, this could all be a moot point if the weather clears earlier than expected.
  10. What about Bob Brainerd?
  11. I tell ya, when the Brewers are winning it is as fun as anything to follow them. But when they are losing (and look like complete crap in the process) it's hard to stomach being a fan. This team will drive you crazy (even in our better years)! I have very little confidence that we'll win either of the next two. This weekend's series with the Nats might turn out to be pretty darn important as far as getting back on track.
  12. LOL...."Cordero surprised him right down the middle." Nice AB JJ.
  13. Why does FSN keep giving closeups of Dempster doing his stupid glove twirl every pitch? Is that supposed to make for good tv?
  14. http://blog.andreasschmid.eu/files/images/yale_harvard.jpg
  15. One word to describe things so far: Pathetic. Horrible hitting. Mental mistakes all over the place. Attrocious fielding. It's like they're not even trying. I can't think of ONE bright spot the last 4 games. Talk about a classic case of having the spotlight right on you only to piss down your leg.
  16. What else is new? Unless the Cubs are 25 games below .500, their fans are always going to come up here. Heck, they are used to paying $100 a seat to sit in the upper deck, and they can sit in the loge for that kind of coin at MP.
  17. Suppan is no better than Bush or McClung....in fact, I'd say right now I'd prefer Bush or McClung.
  18. Just when I start to think that Ned is *ok* as a manager, he pulls this crap today. Even more infuriating is that he'll say that "Sup had great stuff, he just missed a few pitches" after the game. Ned is absolutely clueless. If Yost lets Suppan come out to pitch the 6th, I'm done as a Brewers fan until Ned is fired.
  19. And the wheel goes round in Pittsburgh....are they ever going to build around some real talent or continue to trade for nothing every year? At least those two didn't go to the Cubs/Cards.
  20. What a friggin' joke. Just when I start to forget that we're a small market team, this serves as an unpleasant reminder.
  21. Saturday's game starts at 3:05 and I haven't seen any tv coverage listed. When I first looked at the schedule I thought we were on FOX but we're not and if I'm not mistaken MLB has a rule that no games can be televised during the FOX Saturday baseball. Someone tell me I'm wrong because no TV on a SATURDAY AFTERNOON for a team fighting for the playoffs, great pitching matchup, etc. would be beyond pathetic. This isn't 2001 for crying out loud. (lessened punctuation in thread title --1992)
  22. The Brewers would be a force if they traded for an above average leadoff hitter (Roberts) and one or two decent relievers (Rauch, Fuentes, or one of the BlueJays plethora of arms). If this truly is going to be the year we "go for it" then Melvin needs to do what it takes to put us over the top. You know the Cubs will make a couple more moves and who knows what the Mets/Cardinals will do. One thing I do know is that there is no way guys like Mota/Gagne should be pitching in anything that resembles a close game.
  23. Sorry folks, it's not gonna happen. He might pitch again in 2008, but it will be in the Arizona Winter League.
  24. What's the deal with Oakland? They're 4 games out of the wild card and they're already giving up? Ugh, I hate the Cubs more than words can describe. Sadly, I doubt Hendry is done making moves. Can we go after Brian Roberts and Brian Fuentes now???
  25. I'm sure Melvin's phone will be ringing off the hook with GM's lining up to trade quality starters for those three. Remember, we couldn't trade Claudio Vargas (i.e. Dave Bush #2) for a "never-make-it" minor leaguer.
