  1. Yeah, these guys are just bad. It's like the Royals or something, some has-beens, never was's, and wash-out prospects filling out the lineup. If Nix, Bell, and Mench make up a third of your lineup, along with a pitcher hitting, you're just not going to score runs.
  2. Sheets just doesn't know how to win, I suppose.
  3. I just watched Bertolucci's "The Dreamers" a couple weeks ago. I liked it. I know there were some reviews that hated it, and it's an NC-17, but it was quite good. It was very "Last Tango"-ish, obviously not as good as that or "The Conformist", but I liked it better than "Besieged" (a good movie) or "Stealing Beauty" (not so much a good movie) and some others. If you're a Bertolucci fan, I'd say check it out. A classic by no means, but certainly an attention grabber.
  4. I love last.fm - all they need is for the scrobbler to pick up FLAC and SHN files, because that's what I listen to the most, so then my list will be more complete. Wilco is number two on my list, and they'd likely be 1st. Ryan Adams would be 2nd, probably, but I only have 12 plays of him on my list because the majority of the songs I play from him are live FLAC files. The Dead would be 3rd, but I hardly have any MP3's of them.
  5. Bob Dylan - "Modern Times" Well, it's Dylan. It's really good. I'd say 4/5, or so. I think that might be the only album I've bought in the past few months.
  6. Hey, cool, Toby uses Last.FM. I got no response from anyone when I mentioned it in a thread a while back. I was unaware that you could use a pic in the sig line though - is that a special exemption, or something?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. His season ending stats show Santo walked 47 batters this season - in 15 2/3 innings pitched. That is crazy. I can't believe that's even possible.

  9. yankees are shopping A-Fraud aren't they? No.
  10. he is not being challenged at all. I'm not sure he would be at Brevard, either. I'm starting to think that place should get the old High Desert treatment and get pretty much skipped by the top prospects. The park will so favor him there, that he'll just blow right through. I say put him in AA.
  11. First, I'm betting on a Weeks-like run of destruction for Braun. Otherwise, I'm also really happy to see Parra included. I'd guess he'll come out of the pen there, but maybe he'll start.
  12. Once the bombs start coming, Cain's going to get to Milwaukee in no time. He seems to already have a pretty advanced approach to hitting.
  13. Good for Katin. That's the challenge for a four year college guy - get to AA in your first full season, and you've got a decent shot to make it.

  15. No, he hasn't reached the 52 AB stage yet. The thing that pisses me off is that he thinks he's good or something. Total non-leader selfish modern-day athlete.
  16. That kid Scott is a stud. Tough to call a 28 year old a kid, considering he was in A+ Ball (with a .845 OPS, BTW) in his age 26 season. Basically, he's a career minor leaguer who is having a hot streak. Luckily for him, though, it's the first AB's of his season. This is essentially how players become overrated. They have a hot streak early in their first season (though in the same amount of AB's last year he sucked in MLB).
  17. If they beat a dead Oswalt, would they be "beating a dead horse"? You see, Oswalt has gone over 230 IP three times. Nothin'?
  18. Outside of Bell, that lineup isn't that horrible.
  19. Of course he will. He just signed an extension. I wouldn't read anything into Mark A. being there. Also, if the Brewers have to chance at the playoffs (which they don't) then why should they make moves before the August 31 deadline? What's the point?
  20. It doesn't have Bell in it, that's one reason, even though Cirillo sucks against RHP (not as bad as Bell as a Brewer so far, though). And, it doesn't have Mench in it against a RHP.
  21. Sheets can finish this game, easily.
  22. Watching Sheets tonight makes me yearn for a true number 1. I could only imagine how good one of those is.
  23. Not the whole team, but you can pretty much figure out who'll be back: Weeks Fielder Hall Jenkins Hart Miller Cirillo Gross Sheets Cappy Davis Bush Cordero Capellan Wise Turnbow Hardy Koskie Just a start...
  24. It's not Mark A's job, I hope he doesn't involve himself in adding players. They'll come to play next year with a pretty similar team (pre-injury), and fare better, I think.
