  1. No, all I expect is a good AB out of him. That's all you can ask. I mean, what are your expectations of him? A HR every time at bat? There was no difference between his out and Lee's, aside from Jenkins making the pitcher work harder.
  2. Hell of an AB, he just K'd. Big deal. It's nothing more than an out in that situation.
  3. End, I think Koskie would be perfect hitting second. Hopefully he'll get to eventually. Obviously, when Clark is healthy it would make all the sense in the world to get that OBP up to 2nd.
  4. I'm making the trek down tonight, so I'm starting the thread.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif If you're in 117, see you there. I think it's my first one this year. Joe can do his sweet formatting and whatnot. I also expect some series probabilities from Russ. They're going to win tonight - they have to, I'm 1-0 this year.
  5. 101 pitches and a big lead.
  6. He definitely looks like Doug Davis with 7 K's. But, it's the Nats, too.
  7. No, he wants to lose as many games as possible.
  8. Russ, just keep repeating that mantra. Eventually you'll be right - they have to win at some point. I'm saying they win tonight. But, they might not.
  9. I agree with Eveland when he says he's just had some bad luck. I really expect him to turn it around, and I think tonight would be a lovely time to start.
  10. 11 walks - It's like a team full of Bobby Abreu's.
  11. I really don't understand why they don't just pull Davis here, but I imagine Ned has to take into consideration that DLR could be even worse tomorrow night, and asking Gonzalez to soak up 10 innings in two days may be too much.
  12. game set and match. They're down a whopping three runs. It's hardly over.
  13. There are no words to describe this 1st inning by Davis. Sure there are... I just don't think typing them would be appropriate, and who wants to look at a bunch of asterisks and decipher them?
  14. DD really needs to get things figured out quickly. I know it's not the greatest indicator, but he does have a 3.38 ERA this month.
  15. Does Mike Goetz from UWM have a chance to play in MLB? I keep reading about him in the MJS, and he was pretty much dominant in the Horizon. He hit .495/.581/.690, 41 BB/18 K, led the nation in hitting, won Horizon POY, had a 30+ game hitting streak. Is he just a courtesy draft, though?
  16. I think you guys need to take it up with the county lawmakers to get a retractable roof softball facility. Look at all the games that are lost - it's worse than Pittsburgh.
  17. Patrick, where does it look like LaPorta will end up going right now? What about Cody Johnson?
  18. Yeah, they essentially have three elite (I would argue all Hall of Fame) hitters in the middle of their lineup, with Edmonds also in there (even though he is struggling a little bit thus far this season). That's why they can get away with having garbage in their lineup like Molina, Encarnacion, Taguchi and so on year after year.
  19. It's not just say no to HS pitchers altogether, just say no to paying them large sums of money in the first round. Actually, I'd probably just say no to paying any amateur pitcher a large amount of money, college or not. Let the other teams make those mistakes and take the most advanced (or higher upside HS, if that's your cup of tea) hitter you can get your hands on.
  20. Because they're not thrilled with the idea of pitching to Scott Rolen with men on, either. Ray Durham, people can live with pitching to a little more easily.
  21. Some of us as fans, myself included, tend to be really jaded and cynical about players. Then you see how genuinely thrilled Joe Winkelsas is to be in the bigs on the pregame show, and that kind of goes away a little bit. What an unbelievable story he has.
  22. It could. You would think there'd be no way another guy would "pull a Hendrickson" (Haudricourt's words) again in a Brewers uniform for 10 years, and it only took two days. It can always get worse - look at the Royals. That said, I expect a nice start for Not-so-Heavy-Anymore D tonight.
  23. ZING! I actually had to endure a Manning start in person. I believe, off the top of my head, that he went 1 1/3 and gave up seven. It's the only time I've ever booed someone at a game. Burba came in and dominated, though.
  24. Rarely will I say this about a guy with so few innings under his belt, but Ben Hendrickson sucks. And that's coming from a guy who has defended him a lot in the past. He makes me yearn for David Manning.
