The Astros took Clemens' son. It's the Round of Bloodlines.
-
That is so awesome.
-
Or Chris Gwynn. I'd say that Weeks would be better than those guys, though. At least I'd hope.
-
He's not, he's Mickey Brantley's son.

Michael Brantley, OF, Fort Pierce HS, FL

Pujols' cousin goes to the Cards - time for the Crew to take Weeks!
-
Apparently, he's a LOOGY

LHP Steven Hammond, Cal St. Long Beach

I think it's simply HS pitchers being undervalued in his mind, and maybe some teams are taking college pitchers just for the sake of taking college pitchers.
-
Another HS pitcher for Billy.
-
If he's mentioned in the same breath as Wagner and Crain, as he was on MLB Radio, one has to think he'll move quickly.

How about Weeks?

Andrew Thompson, SS, Jupiter, FL

HS pitcher, yay.
-
I wish I could find Matheny's numbers at Michigan.
-
I'm aware, but they can pay him. Too much talent to pass on.
-
Teagarden would be awesome.
-
They should be able to pay a little extra since they don't have a 2nd.
-
Billy takes another HS pitcher, Carney Lansford's son.

The thing about Beane is that he isn't as rigid about these things as some people make him out to. Mostly it's the people who don't like him that say that he only drafts college players. This was a little high for them to take a HS pitcher, but apparently they like him.
