  1. Here we go again! Here comes Vizzy for the save.
  2. That's F'N sad right there.
  3. Bases juiced for a possibly HOT Jenks - lets get some runs!!
  4. Well, there's one more hitter before we get to Jenkins, and Clark'll bunt. So, they'll have to find yet another new and creative way to make outs.
  5. Well, here we go. It's mini-rally time!!!
  6. Now that's a dandy Scotty. Why doesn't Brady start at CF?
  7. Why, don't you like a guy slugging .330 in the clean-up spot? That's brilliant strategery!
  8. Better make it a 40 OZ then, it doesn't have to be a 12 oz, does it?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  9. Branyan could always start in RF, or dare I say LF.
  10. I think they're going to get the split and get a little hot, myself, but of course that's my HUGE bias speaking. I really do think they will snap out of their slumber, even for a little while, just to give us some fun again. Man, I hope I'm right!
  11. Wow, Sheets is just dealing tonight!
  12. Just saw this on the Bottomline on ESPN2: the Brewers are 3-55 (.055) with RISP over their last 7 games. Unreal how impotent this offense is.
  13. After another tough loss in which the Brewers failed to provide any run support to their starting pitcher, the king of no run support - Ben Sheets - takes the mound tonight against Greg Maddux and the Cubbies. Maddux dazzled the Brewers at Wrigley on July 17 with a 6-hit shutout for his 297th career win, and threw another complete game in his last start for number 298 against the Reds allowing two runs. In his career against the Brewers, Maddux is 8-2 with an unreal ERA of 1.19 spanning 12 starts and 90.2 innings. Sheets, on the otherhand, is coming off his worst start (relatively speaking) of the season in St. Louis last week. In his career against the Cubs (12 starts, 81.2 innings), Sheeter is 7-3 with a 2.76 ERA. This game should be another great one, similar to when they faced off in Wrigley on the 17th - prior to Sheets leaving the game, only two runs had been scored, both on solo HR's by Alou and Sosa. 14. Well, a sweet added bonus of a Gary Bennett interview. Anyone ever notice the catcher love-fest that is the Brewers announce booth? Every team they play, Sutton says things like "nobody calls a game better than (insert random mediocre catcher here, LaRue, Ausmus)", or "there's not a better guy in the league than (insert random catcher here)", or the best one of them all - "don't look at the stats, because that's not what (insert random catcher here) cares about." Just an observation. EDIT: Boy, can the Bill Hall SS experiment stop now?
  15. It's amazing to think of how good that pen was with Lidge/Dotel/Wagner. It was basically a five inning game, since Lidge could usually throw two innings. If there is an explanation for why the Astros are a fifth place team, it's simply because they have blown up the best bullpen in baseball.
  16. How about another great Doors tune, "When the Music's Over": So when the music's over When the music's over, yeah When the music's over Turn out the lights Turn out the lights Turn out the lights Well the music is your special friend Dance on fire as it intends Music is your only friend Until the end Until the end Until the end! Danny is lights out!
  17. Since I'm feeling good about the boys again, I figured I'd get the ball rolling for another victory. Fresh off the positive bounce of a Brewers victory in which they scored 7, count 'em 7 runs, Lil Ben goes for his first Big League victory. He has struggled thus far, but let's hope today is the day he gets it together for a win, or at least a solid performance. Redding has struggled mightily this season (3-6, 6.03 ERA), especially against the Crew (0-2, 6.00, spanning two starts and 9 innings of work). He has also struggled at home, with a 1-3 record, a 6.99 ERA, and a staggering .349 BAA and 1.85 WHIP. In 11 games (9 starts) career against the Crew, Redding has a 2-5 record and 4.78 ERA. Could this be the one for Ben? I think so! Go Crew!!!! Yahoo! Preview ESPN Preview Brewers Preview Astros Preview JS Online "Brewer Report" ESPN Stat Pack (PDF Document)
  18. Well, this one should be fun. Capuano has pitched well pretty much all season, including a nice start against Houston in Milwaukee on June 12. He also was injured for the first time this season at Houston earlier in the season. Clemens has been Clemens this season, and has started one game thus far against the Crew, April 18 in Houston. He allowed one run on four hits and K'd seven men in seven innings. In 27 career starts vs. the Brewers, Clemens is 14-9 with 11 CG, three SO, a 1.89 ERA, and 208 K's in just over 204 innings pitched. Nothing's better for sick bats than Roger Clemens.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Yahoo! 19. Agreed, Batman. At least they're not completely falling apart. They're still a bunch of gritty battlers, and they're playing a very difficult part of their schedule right now - and their pitching isn't falling apart, which is excellent. I fully expect to see them go on a tear again, hopefully very, very soon - when it still matters. However, we are not hearing the death rattle of the 2004 Milwaukee Brewers. There are still nearly 70 games remaining in the season, and this team's not done making noise.
  20. Well, at least Kinney continues to shine out of the pen. Just looking for something positive out of the trainwrek that the Brewers have become...
  21. They are going to lose touch with the Cubs and Reds here pretty soon if they don't start getting it done. Cubs are about to win again today, leading 12-2 in the 7th.
  22. Carlos Corporan with a game-tying single. What an awesome game so far. Bases juiced now for the Snappers. Guilder Rodriguez SF makes it 4-2. EDIT: Snappers win!
  23. Here's a simpler link for the Kernels feed, it took quite a bit of clicking around to find. Click on the "Click Here to listen to KCRG-AM" link. www.warpradio.com/popTuner.asp?id=3525
  24. Agreed, definitely the most important game of the season up to this date. Hopefully, we'll be able to say that about every game from here on out, though.
  25. What are the match-ups in Houston? I believe its Clemens, Redding, and Munro - which hopefully means at least two out of three for the Crew. By my calculations here's the match-ups: Santos v. Williams: Even Sheets v. Marquis: Ad. Brewers Capuano v. Clemens: Ad. Astros Hendrickson v. Redding: Even, due to Redding's history v. the Crew Davis v. Munro: Ad. Brewers I think they should go no less than 3-2 in these five games, and would hope for 4-1 - IF they can score some f'n runs!
