I will preface this by saying that this is an off-the-wall comment, and that I despise Tony LaRussa and his "bigger than the game" attitude. However, why not hit Obermueller in the 8th spot and move Gary "The Glove" to the ninth? I know that this post will result in questions on my sanity, my intelligence, and more, but I seriously think that Henry Blanco would be a better offensive option at C than Bennett. On a happy note, the Yankees lost: http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20040703/capt.nys20207032157.yankees_mets_nys202.jpg Shane Spencer is a stone-cold assassin!

Just wondering how it worked to become a "Brewerfan.net regular"? I've posted 200+ times, yet I'm still a rookie, then I look at someone that has posted 10 times, and they have no designation. What's up with that? P.s. - not really a big deal or anything, just wondering how that worked.

Amazing how much of a jackass Surhoff was/is - and just think, he could be back.

Apparently, after everyone on BF drank themselves to sleep last night following the DH sweep, someone had to start the game thread. Time for the stopper, Wes Obermueller, to go out there and get it done against a guy they have roughed up a few times before, WI native Kris Benson. Benson v. Crew: 3-4, 4.09 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, .261 BAA Obermueller v. Bucs: 0-0, 8.00 ERA, 2.11 WHIP, .342 BAA GO CREW! Yahoo! Sports Preview Brewers.com Preview

Look at the positive, we get to see 3 or 4 innings of Matty Kinney!!! Sweet! Time to chalk up the loss and get ready for game 2, gotta get the split.
  8. brettac1
Right you are, Ken. I stand corrected, go ChiSox.

Lets get game 1! And game 2! And this from the Yahoo! GameCast of the Cubs/Sox game: "CHICAGO CUBS PITCHER CARLOS ZAMBRANO LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE SEVENTH INNING DUE TO AN APPARENT RIGHT FOREARM INJURY." - sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxs...=240702116 Thank you, Mr. Baker.

After falling behind the Sox 2-0 early, the Cubs have scored three with the aide of a Ross Gload error and a Sosa RBI single. Bottom of the fourth at Wrigley with a match-up of Loaiza v. Zambrano (whose ERA ballooned to 2.46 after giving up the two early runs).

    They both are Yosh

Walk, BRING IN ADAMS! EDIT: To close tomorrow's games, I mean of course!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  13. brettac1
Hopefully they can get about three or four here and not have to use Danny, with a DH in Pitt tomorrow, the pen will be thin.
  14. brettac1
Excuse me while my heart is dislodged from my throat following that fly ball. Adams is going to close this one, I imagine?

    Sammy walk-off off Lidge

Just a note, Ben Grieve is now hitting .289 - OBP has now got to be over .400.
  17. brettac1
Lamb, Beltran, Berkman - smells like runs to me! Beltran's already got two bombs today, how about a third?
  18. brettac1
Stormy Weathers pitches out of an 8th inning jam at Wrigley, lets go 'Stros!

Jim Powell on Ben Grieve's E-9: "That's a bad play".
  20. brettac1
What will it take for Gary "The Glove" to drop below .200, will an 0-4 do it?
  21. brettac1
Cool it dude, I thought that Cheney thing was quite funny.
  22. brettac1
I probably agree, unless they put Obie on a 60 pitch count or a five inning limit. Who knows though? Maybe they did some serious preparation for Santana this time.

That was a classic quote from "Big Time" himself, at least he's having fun in his last few months in office!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

How many years did Burny play with Jenkins? What a moron.
  25. brettac1
What about bringing the infield in in the third inning, that's possibly a tie with today's game.
