  1. Not to mention it would be almost impossible to get the Players Assoc. to agree to remove a starting position(thus lowering the pay of 14 players dramatically).
  2. He'll do it against Cubs, mostly because i think he will have at least 6 hits that series.
  3. Agreed. Dempster St is a safe area. I always park there and never have any problems.
  4. As a rule i take stats guys put up below AA with a grain of salt(i'm sure we've all been burned by prospects playing well in A ball at age 20, then not making it to AAA till 25 or so). I also know Jake has great stuff, but guys with great stuff have failed to be able to make the jump before, and will fail to make the jump again. I'd be saying this regardless of if he was still in the organization. I guess i don't see the point in getting hyped up about guys in the low levels, as we've seen SOOOO many guys fail(I'm looking at YOU Brad Nelsonhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif). And you are right, a lot of guys want the Brewers to win every trade. I think it's perfectly fine for both teams to do well in a deal.
  5. People were saying the same thing about Will Inman when we traded him(and he put up better stats than jake did thru A ball). You can't assume guys who haven't made the jump yet to AA(the hardest one to make) will be on your major league roster within a year or two. Granted, i think Jake will be better than Will has been, but I'm not going to be day dreaming a bunch of what ifs until Jake is either flat out dominating in AAA(even then, probably not), or is successful on a Major League roster.
  6. Word from Loe is that the Brewers loved the Mustard unis so much, that they asked for them to be included in the regular rotation.
  7. Nice. $5 a piece or $5 for the two? Either way, that's an awesome pickup man.
  8. Especially when you look at the matchups(favor us in both games, IMO). I had this a series win, but i figured we would lose tonight. GREAT win.
  9. The Union Pacific/Northwest Line(METRA) in Harvard Il(just south of the WI border) will take you to all the way into town(bout a 1.75 hr ride, depending on stops), but i would recommend getting off at the Irving Park stop(15 mins shorter) and taking the Irving Park East bus to Clark, then just walk 4 blocks south. Otherwise you can drive down to the Blue Line(CTA) at O'Hare, go downtown and transfer to the redline(Get off at addison), but that's around a 35 min ride or so. Personally, if you are looking for an easy way, i'd take the blue line to the redline and up to addison. It's easy, and both Blue and Red lines run 24/hrs(no other lines run past 2am on weekdays, and the NW line shuts down at 12:30am), so if you feel like hitting up the bar scene after the game, you don't have to worry about missing the last train to harvard. Also, minimal traffic(compared to driving all the way in to downtown) once you get out towards O'hare. Honestly? Parking there is overpriced. I'd park at a CTA train stop(i'd stop at the yellow line if you are coming from Milwaukee, it's a nice neighborhood and the farthest north stop), and take the train in. As long as you paid for the parking spot there($3 all day, IIRC), you are good to go.
  10. It's 7.99 before fees and stuff on stubhub right now. http://www.stubhub.com/ch...ewers-6-14-2011-1005103/ That being said, if you want them for exactly $7, day off you will get them at that price. Probably won't have to wait till first pitch either. Those guys are giving them away.
  11. $7 will get you a seat in the middle of the summer. It's crazy cheap down there right now.
  12. i roll into work just as this game is about to start. Hopefully we can light up sanchez, but if not, i won't be too disappointed. As everybody else has said, 1-6 looks awesome.
  13. Me too. Keep it as long as ya want, if it annoys people, that's their problem. JMO tho.
  14. i doubt it, i think Nashville still has 5 or 6 guys in the outfield. EDIT: Nashville still has in the OF Jordan Brown Brett Carroll Caleb Gindl Brandon Boggs Erick Almonte Brendan Katin I'd say one more needs to be moved before Komatsu moves up.
  15. Yea, you really don't want the Brewers front office to get the same reputation the Braves FO did(when it came to trading away pitching). Sometimes you need trades to work out great for both sides.
  16. You're a Brewers fan, you should embrace the lack of class.
  17. My thoughts exactly. Let him get some regular ABs, and call him back up when we need him.
  18. We traded a guy who hit .233(with an 8.75m salary) for an 18 game winner. I think that's up for consideration. I wouldn't call the dykstra/morgan best trade he's ever made, but it's probably one of the more lopsided trades.
  19. Carlos Marmol got rocked by the worst in the NL Astros, giving up 6 runs in the 9th. The Cubs have to try to prevent a sweep tomorrow. The cubs have had a horrible May, only winning three series(3-6-1 on the month). Next couple of weeks won't be much easier, as they play the @Cards, @Reds, @Phillies, Brewers, and Yankees before facing a team below .500(@White Sox).
  20. Bring back Bat Day, then you'll have me again. These bobbles suck.
  21. Ive been looking forward to this matchup for a while now. http://concede330.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/screen-shot-2011-03-05-at-10-18-40-am.png?w=400&h=217 Can't wait!
  22. Boggs was outrighted because they had to add a spot for Josh Wilson, Morgan won't be activated till tomorrow, in which i think they will send down Nieves.
  23. Did McGehee say something to the media I've missed? I see no reason for such an outburst from him. I think he may not like it, but i don't think he would stop playing.
