  1. Yeah, I was looking at that too. Wierd. Guess I'm going take what she says with a grain of salt next time... I know everyone's getting on Yost for the Hart baserunning mistake, but I'd say more than 50% out of the time the contact play works, and it was Hart's fault that he didn't stay in that rundown long enough to get Hall to second. And Hall doesn't even the ball in the air in the first place either. I know he's not the greatest manager, but I don't think today's loss goes on him like some of his previous losses (especially some last year). No we didn't execute when we needed to. I'm actually bothered more by the fact he was considering bringing in Gagne than I am that he actually brought in Turnbow.
  2. All I can say is if we miss the playoffs this year Yost better be fired. We have all this young talent and we are going to piss it away because of a below average manager holding us back.
  3. I just looked at his game logs. Gagne has never once in his career pitched 5 straight days much less 8 or 9. He has pitched forurtimes in a row about 5 times in his career(wasn't actually counting that).
  4. Is anyone surprised we lost this when he brought in Turnbow.
  5. Gross deserves that hit after all the hot shots he's had right at people this year.
  6. I can't wait until Yost gets fired, it is almost worth tanking this year just to get it done. I can't believe he is going to bring in Gagne if we score here.
  7. Wonder how much Bush is paying Villanueva to tank so he can keep his rotation spot!
  8. Yeah he has certainly looked like a second basemen this year. Maybe not a gold glover or anything but not a hack out there either.
  9. So far this year we are at +9 using thehardballtimes plus/minus rating, last year we were -41 or something like that. That is a pretty huge difference assuming we can keep it up.
  10. Cordero wasn't coming off of 3 straight years of being injured though. Gagne should never be used 4 days in a row and really shouldn't be used 3 days in a row. Keeping him healthy is more important than him getting every single save opportunity.
  11. The difference between Gagne and Wood is that Wood isn't even a full year removed from an arm injury. Of course Gagne had hip problems early last year and a "tired arm" right before the Red Sox traded for him last year. Face the facts Yost is a moron for hte move today.
  12. Heh, I try to stay positive but I think we need a 95 win team to go to the playoffs with this clown managing the team.
  13. I said it before the season started, Gagne will be an effective closer as long as Yost baby's him some. This is just ridiculous and a large part of why I dislike Ned Yost. Stupid, stupid stupid move on his part.
  14. Gagne obviously gave up the runs but I blame Yost for putting him out there in the first place.
  15. I wouldn't think of sending Weeks down until after the homestand. Let these guys get a few games in the home park that they like so much before worrying about it.
  16. Weeks has a chance to be a hero or a pretty large goat here (what is this 3 times in a row up with RISP?). I'll take the WP~
  17. I also don't imagine Fielder is a very good bunter. It is a skill afterall.
  18. I'm going to reserve judgement on all of our hitters until after the home stand. We seem to hit better at home and if I didn't know any better I'd say every ump we've seen this year was betting against the Brewers because the strike zones have just been horrible.
  19. Suppan was at 87 pitches and has stunk late in games in his career~
  20. Pretty hard to key in on Weeks when the entire team is struggling to hit. .182 .197 .232 .233 .286 .221 .118 1.000 .353 Those are the averages of today's lineup. Six guys hitting .233 or lower. Probably a combination of the miserable weather we've had most of the season, playing mostly on the road and facing a number of good pitchers without really very many bad ones.
  21. Through yesterdays game the plus/minus system has us at +8 which is good for 7th in the NL and a huge improvement over last year.
  22. I really hate pitchout calls with a pitcher who isn't throwing strikes yet.
  23. Marvin Hudson slightly favors hitters. He pinches pitchers on the corners but is generous with high strikes and very generous with low strikes.
  24. Yeah I was shocked to read this as well and at such a young age.
  25. Don't forget the 2-1 @Chi. We have played 11 of 17 games on the road including series @NYM, @CHI, @STL, @CIN without our best fielding player, with Braun and Fielder struggling and with our #2 SP on the DL. Now unfortunately the Cubs and Cards also got off to hot starts but both have had easier schedules than we have so far having played the majority of their games at home and the majority of their games against lower tier teams.
