  1. I'd complain about Jenkins hitting here but well I have no confidence in Graffanino either so I guess I can live with it.
  2. I predict Weeks breaks out but we end up losing because Mench leaves 4 guys on base. Just hate seeing Mench get all this playtime against righties when he's the 6th best OF on the team against them.
  3. Delgado has been cold all year though he's heating up a bit now. Beltran is hurt and playing through it. Wright hasn't found his power stroke yet. Valentin is out and they have a scrub playing 2B. We also miss their two best starters. I really like the timing of this series for us and will be disappointed if we don't take 2.
  4. I will go on record saying I disagree, Gross is a better hitter and I'd rather see him pinch hit vs a righty every time. Vs a lefty its up to debate though.
  5. You most certainly do, but many times the opinions expressed fly in the face of what everyone else feels or what is statistically accurate. There is no way you can make a meaningful judgement about Gwynn and Gross based on this season alone because neither has played enough.
  6. To be fair one of those saves was 6 pitches and another was 1 pitch. The highest pitch count in the 6 games was 13.
  7. When are teams going to learn that bringing in a lefty to face Prince is just a waste of resources.
  8. Difference is Vargas actually has a little talent, Santos never did.
  9. Vargas 165.1 IP, 4.08 ERA, 1.28 WHIP in day games 395 IP, 5.13 ERA, 1.51 WHIP in night games I like those odds!
  10. Looks like the Scrubs are gonna win too. thats not true, two of the last three nights have seen call ins by Capuano and Hardy. We are getting tons of air time.
  11. Well thats why Counsell is in there, just wish he could at least hit his .250ish while doing it.
  12. As others have said, there wasn't a ball hit all that hard against him, he wasn't laboring, he was throwing strikes, he wasn't deep in his pitch count. Gross misplays a ball that was a lunging swing right to him and suddenly you blame Yost. I still don't get it.
  13. Gross makes an error and its Bush's/Yost's fault, I don't get it. If you want to complain about something complain about the fielding there.
  14. How on earth is that not an error, that was terrible.
  15. He's only at 90 pitches, he's still throwing great. No reason to take him out in my opinion.
  16. Got on late, silly kids. Bush has pitched great this year, he's just had bad luck, thats simply all it is. Yeah he's given up some big innings but thats just how it goes, you are gonna give up those sometimes and when you string together a few games in a row like that you get an ugly ERA. His ERA most certainly should be in the 4's before this game and not the 6's.
  17. Its never the right time to steal when you get caught. I mean really there was nothing at all wrong with sending Hall there. The C just made a good play.
  18. The one time all year Estrada doesn't swing at the first pitch Hall gets caught stealing and then Estrada gets a hit. Thats annoying~
  19. I'm sure its just because we have faced so many lefties lately that they want to get Jenkins in another game. I don't mind a game like that here and there, as long as Mench sits against most righties and Jenkins against most lefties I'm happy.
  20. Now if only they would sit Mench more against righties and play Gross or Hart we'd be set. Mench has not hit righties well at all this year and shouldn't be playing unless we face 3+ of them in a row. Nationals entire roster 12 HR's, Fielder/Hardy 17 HR's, heh.
  21. With a runner on 3rd and 1 out the important thing is to put the ball in play, Counsell does that as well as Graffanino. To me pinch hitting there i just a waste of resources.
  22. What a terrible game by Counsell.
  23. Sheets obviously isn't a winner because of this
  24. Three walks by Sheets today, he's still not very sharp but at least he's missing some bats.
