  1. Graffy is a hack at 3B pure and simple, I'd just as soon see Braun out there or take the hit and play Counsell full time.
  2. Generic vent that has nothing to do with the Brewers... Skip Bayless has to be the biggest moron on TV and thats saying an awful lot.
  3. Yeah we stunk for sure today but if you reverse the defense played by the two teams we probably are in that game. They robbed a number of hits and we gave up 3+ runs with our defense. Its frustrating for sure but we just gotta hope the defense doesn't have too many games like this.
  4. Pretty sure they want Villanueva to get his innings in and with the rainouts and days off everyone is pretty fresh. Dessens is sort of that guy that only pitches when the bullpen gets stressed too much the previous couple of days.
  5. Rolen Hall Fielder Duncan (note thats assuming Duncan platoons, if he faces lefties move him below Weeks) Weeks Eckstein
  6. You are honestly going to try to blame this game on Yost? Why because he let his ace throw to Spiezio? Sometimes the posts in this forum just make no sense to me. If you want to blame someone for the loss blame the 3 runs Graffy let in and then blame Sheets for not having his good stuff. Those have way more to do with the loss than anything Yost did.
  7. Its been an odd season with all the rained out games, cold weather etc. I hope thats just messing up his control some.
  8. The Cardinals build their teams around solid defense and fundementals. Its not just the coach its how they build it from the top down. I do think LaRussa is one of the best in the game though. I just think people refuse to blame the players. I gaurentee you the coaches didn't coach Fielder to take a big lead in that situation, it was a mental mistake by Fielder.
  9. So three fielding mistakes by the guy that everyone said Yost should be fired for not starting at 3rd and suddenly its his fault, I just don't get it. Young teams make mistakes, its simply how it goes, its part of growing up at the major league level.
  10. The difference between Graffy and Counsell on offense isn't worth the difference on defense, especially against righties.
  11. Good players generally get that treatment. During his huge years you had to throw the ball right down the middle to get a strike against Bonds.
  12. Two errors called hits and a HR is his typical outing?
  13. This is why I prefer Counsell at 3B to graffy, yuck.
  14. I thought our defense was supposed to hurt Suppan this year, not help him.
  15. I can't imagine he comes up as long as Vargas is effective and the rotation is healthy, unless we trade someone mid season.
  16. They keep saying Braun has poor footwork which leads to most of his problems including the poor throws.
  17. I can't get it either, listening to the Cardinals feed.
  18. I'm confused, people would bunt in the 6th inning of a close game but its a mistake in the 10th inning when 1 run actually probably wins the game? I just don't get these complaints. Regardless the players don't step up and Mench makes the bunt useless, hopefully we get a 2 out hit.
  19. well this is the first year we've had the talent to really be a playoff team. Not sure we have the experience at this point as young teams make a lot of silly mistakes.
  20. It says every single hitter in baseball is streaky, even guys like Pujols.
  21. Yeah and its not like it was a moonshot or anything, the ball barely made it over the wall.
  22. Actually its called quite a bit for better or worse but I'm sure that doesn't fit in with your anti Ned stance you seem to be taking this year. I've seen LaRussa call it this year already and Soscia in the half dozen games I've watched.
  23. Capellan could have come in and loaded the bases without getting anyone out~.
  24. Cirillo wouldn't fit the roster at all, he's not doing the same job Craig was brought in for so there really isn't any comparison. Keeping Gwynn was a mistake for sure, pure an simple since our weak spot is in the MI until we can get a real 3B.
