  1. Wow. Isringhausen, that wasn't even close!
  2. Since your wish is apparently their command, go ahead and ask for some other favors this game.
  3. That was impressive opposite field from Braun.
  4. Would those be Badger Mutual Insurance runs?
  5. Ok, having image issues. Here's the URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10593301@N07/2696855665/
  6. Ok, on BB Tonight they were talking about our game just now and how baserunning mistakes were a big issue and that we're leaving the Cards in the game instead of blowing this wide open. They pointed out the first inning in which Rickie hit the double and never looked over to the third base coach, thereby ending up on second instead of third. He allowed the SS to deke him. They also brought up Rickie getting picked off in the third. They froze frame and showed how Molina set up outside and because he's Molina, Rickie should have taken that as a sign and stayed closer to the bag. Here's the freeze frame of where Molina set up to begin with and where he was on that pitch. http://www.flickr.com/photos/10593301@N07/2696855665/
  7. I said in the IGT last night that I thought Bill would get plunked. He paused, had a "look" and flipped the bat. Now, I'm fairly certain Bill was as shocked as the rest of us and it was more surprise than attitude, but I definitely noticed it and had someone done that against us, I think we'd have been talking about it too.
  8. A whole lot of Brewers talk on Baseball Tonight - talking about our baserunning mistakes
  9. Of course, the next logical step is http://faqsmedia.ign.com/faqs/image/article/739/739691/al_bundy_vs_chobot.jpg
  10. Oops - shirt untucking. Sorry. Apparently Mike Cameron started it as a tribute to his dad. When his dad came home from a hard days' work the first thing he'd do is untuck his shirt and kick off his shoes. The rest of the team thought it was a nice gesture and picked it up, so they do it as a tribute to their dads. They can't exactly kick off their shoes, but if they win, they untuck their jerseys. Kind of like "We came out and got the job. Good day's work, time to go relax."
  11. I saw someone mention earlier in the thread that they thought the shirt tucking was bush league - did you hear Trenni's explanation? It's an interesting story...
  12. Throw me in, please and thank you. I could totally "be sick" for that day.
  13. Not sure how long the video will stay up, but Jenkins' bat broke and he hit himself with it. And it was an ash bat, not the exploding problematic maple... http://www.thefightins.com/meechone/video-of-geoff-jenkins-injuring-himself-with-his-broken-bat/ There are three comments on the video: One of the rare "hits" Jenkins had had this season. "It's only a flesh wound!" He's so bad his bats are rebelling against him.
  14. There's an older lady that site between the two posts up in the terrace level and she yells very strange things all game long and she is always wearing a lime green Brewers jersey, which makes absolutely no sense! And I don't care if it's Breast Cancer pink. You can literally buy anything you want in Breast Cancer pink and I find it ridiculous. Instead of paying $8 for that spatula because OMG it's pink, donate the $8 to a charity. They'll actually get all of the money that way. I saw a red Brewers ball and glove hat while getting coffee this morning. MAKES NO SENSE!
  15. I'm putting together an article about the Brewers run and I'm hoping some of you will be willing to give me some info and be willing to be quoted. My basic idea is to gauge people's reaction to our current position of 1 game back. I was a baby in 82, so I can't compare this season to our last run at any sort of post-season. I think it best to put my list of questions because I think it will be most clear. Answer in paragraph form, don't go down the list of questions. 1. Were you around for 82 and if so, how does this compare? 2. Are you optimistic about the post-season, or do you still have doubts? 3. Normally by this point of the summer, football talk has crept in and we start looking forward to that season. Has the fact that the Brewers are still competitive changed that for you? 4. Has the Favre hoopla changed your outlook on the upcoming season? For example, I got my ESPN the Magazine in the mail yesterday and it has the Fantasy Football preview and I realized I am so NOT prepared for my draft that's in less than a month. I'm absolutely not at all in the football mindset and the tighter the baseball race gets, the farther the Packers get from my mind. Am I the only one? I'm looking to do a feature-style piece on how the Brewers' season is affecting the sports climate in the state. Anything you'd like to share, I'd appreciate. you can email me at nicole.haase(at)gmail.com Thanks!
  16. Bought mine at Kohl's, too. Also at a FanFair, I think.
  17. I enjoy the image of the Cubs shopping a scratch and dent sale - or like, Seven Mile Fair.
  18. Sorry, I thought I remembered hearing that they were just finishing shooting when he died and had to finish up without him.
  19. People who are making a right hand turn and have pulled out and have their neck craned completely to the left, looking for oncoming traffic and never, ever check back to make sure there's nothing (car, people, bikes) on their right and just pull out. Since when can you drive looking only one direction?
  20. Agreed on all points. Most of my Brewers tidbits/stories start with "On BrewerFan." When I'm at a game and something big happens, I think "wonder what the boards saying right now." And I reiterate what Mac said above, it's the last site I go to because I know I'm spending the most time here. I'm definitely a smarter fan now. Thanks.
  21. Just read this in this week's SI power Rankings: Three reasons why Cubs fans should be wary of Rich Harden: 1. He's brittle as can be and recently lost velocity on his fastball. (Just last week, he publicly stated that his arm felt "dead.") 2. He's a fly-ball pitcher, that usually doesn't fly in Wrigley Field. 3. Billy Beane gave Harden up, even though he had him signed through 2009. The modest haul Oakland received combined with the timing of this transaction (weeks away from the deadline) leads me to believe that Beane just wanted to get rid of Harden ASAP. And remember, Beane usually has a far better feel for personnel than his peers.
  22. One of the best PR moves the Crew made in the past few years was expanding and extending into the Hispanic population in Milwaukee.
  23. Watching this WGN broadcast makes me incredibly appreciative of Brian and Bill. Never thought I'd see the day...
  24. <--- not happy with whoever started the Billy, Billy, Keep turning up the heat. Totally stuck in my head now, but I suppose there are worse lullabyes on night like this
  25. Yes, yes he did. The one we won in Chicago off Wood was spectacular, as was the win against St. Louis at home when Isringhausen officially lost his closer's role both rank up there as best of the season - but I was at both, so I'm not sure this one can compete. Still, spectacular.
