  1. It's always nice when we let the opposing pitchers get hits and HR
  2. Well that wasn't the way I expected us to screw it up.
  3. This is the worst breakup I've ever been in! Just when I'm ready to walk away, they pull me back in and give me all kinds of faith. We'll probably lose in extra innings.
  4. Or Craig Counsell. You know. Same difference.
  5. trying to be positive...trying to be positive... trying to be positive... trying to be positive... trying to be positive... trying to be positive...
  6. I think it says something when a good portion on knowledgeable Brewer fans assume that Ben will be out at some point for an injury. I don't necessarily blame him - it's not like I think he's out there trying to find these strange "freak" injuries, but they are happening none-the-less. I think at some point that has seeped into the brain-connect on him. Any discussion on Ben heading into this season, whether in the media or on fan board, was centered on the sentence "If he stays healthy." Whether or not the injuries were valid pitching-related injuries, they still kept him out of games and therefore I think they matter.
  7. Thank you for succinctly summing up my point in two sentences, since I could not.
  8. Makes me want to put the TV in the window and "tailgate" in my backyard. That's a stellar point and is reminding me to just chill and enjoy this.
  9. Where can we find the numbers on how many times Corey's been LOB/stranded this season? It feels like every game Rickie gets on base, the next 3 get out, Bill comes up at the top of the next inning, gets a K, Corey gets on base, JJ pops up and the pitcher gets out. I can't imagine every team that scouts us doesn't know this at this point. I'm not sure that Corey batting 5th changes this too much, but at least there are no outs behind him and pop outs and bunts could advance him?
  10. I'm wondering if we can pawn him off to a coach that is known for being able to get inside people's heads as a "fixer upper" case. I mean, he's got the pedigree with the velocity and the All-Star appearance... Hell, we were able to trade Matt Wise after all his head-case issues last season....
  11. It's an extremely long season and we're only a fraction of the way into it. Lots of things can and will change.
  12. Tonight has to be case in point for switching Bill and Corey. Bill was 2 GIDP, 2 K and Corey's like 7 for 10 over the past two games.
  13. As a whole, it's not a problem with Ned overall, so I don't know that it's necessarily about replacing Ned. The decision-making about the pitching is the problem - can't that adjust/change without having to get rid of Ned?
  14. Well, maybe it wasnt you who said it, but you think Braun is a cocky player who cant back it up and isnt doing what a ROY should do (after 12 games). you hate Turnbow. You think Hall and Weeks and Hardy should benched in favor or COunsell, Dillon and Irribarren. I don't think that Ryan Braun can't back it up, I think he's been extremely impatient at the plate, which I have said a few times now and therefore I don't have a problem with him sitting for a day to stew and realize that this isn't going to come easy and he needs to settle down. He IS cocky and so far he's not backing it up. That doesn't mean I don't think he can nor does it mean I'm writing it off. It means that I feel that letting him think about what he needs to do to be a stud is ok. It's one game, so I have no problem with him being sat. His head is not in the right spot to start the season and if I'm his manager, I'm going to try and shake him out of it. I don't think this is a bad move by Ned. Something's got to get Ryan moving. I do dislike Turnbow and I won't apologize for it. I said earlier why I think this and I'm not even in the minority. He lost it and for a team with this "do or die" attitude that we had coming into this season where we have to win now or never, I can't comprehend sticking with Derrick. I think it's contradictory to all our other moves to make this a playoff team NOW. I don't think we should replace anyone in the roster. As I said earlier, I'm frustrated because I know how good this team can and should be. I think Bill and Corey should be switched in the lineup. I think that if we're going to sit Ryan because of poor plate performance, the same thing should be discussed for Bill.
  15. B/C I'm clearly the only one on here frustrated with Bill Hall. Why don't you keep your personal attacks to yourself.
  16. We get it, you arent really a fan of any of the players on this team. And you got that from where exactly???
  17. I'm with you for the most part, but Fielder's been putting the ball in the field, though some spectacular defense has stolen some hits. I'm not too worried yet about the no HR thing. And I think Rickie's doing what he's supposed to do: He's getting on base, whether by HBP, hits or BB. But yeah, Bill can sit too IMO, though our defense has been bad enough...
  18. Gorgeous striped stirrups on the Cards pitcher. (also.....Hart's fourth time on base)
  19. At this point, I don't think there's anything anyone could possibly say that would make me feel like Turnbow should get a chance or be on the roster. There's a whole thread in the Major Leagues forum with people justifying him and I just can't see how anyone can be that delusional anymore. First it was fatigue. Then it was mental. Then he was ok if he started an inning and didn't inherit runners. None of those excuses are holding up...
  20. No, he hasn't been a stud. He had a stud season and thus far hasn't been able to show that he can keep it up. His plate choices have sucked and he's not doing what a ROY should be doing for his team. His cockiness is well-known and maybe he needs a seat to remember that he has to back up that swagger. He does up no good if he can't stop striking out.
  21. Clearly we should leave Turnbow in this game. Three straight hits and walking the relief pitcher. Fabulous!
