  1. I agree with the quality. The plaque that says 50 homers on the two we got isn't even painted - just plain white. Awful.
  2. how have they done that? They opened up new entrances. If you're walking up on the third base side between Fridays and home plate, there was an entrance open there and for just a few turnstiles there were tons of ushers. They also put up a tent at the home plate entrance and they're actually giving out the bobble in there, before you ever come through the door. They've basically eliminated the big back ups that would occur after you made it through the turnstile but before you got your bobble handed to you. They opened the outside doors at the bottom of the staircases, as well. The bobbles are handed to you before you go through the next set of doors, so no one can go out there, get a second bobble and come back in. And just to clarify, I've never sold a bobble. The one time I went back more than once was to get all three of the Robin Yount versions. I don't go back to get them to make money, but for my own collection.
  3. What do you all think of the bottom of the 1st into music? I'm really not a fan, but the boyfriend said he liked it. I guess I just don't think it's a very "pump you up" kind of song. It takes too long to crescendo and I just don't get into it. I don't remember the song they used last year, but it was something everyone knew and could sing/clap along too. This very loud angels singing thing I'm just not digging.
  4. A supposed insider in the marketing office said that retro Fridays will be happening, they just didn't do it for Opening Day - you wear your traditional uni's on the biggest game of the season. But they will be coming back. They make entirely too much money off retro merch, I can't imagine they would do away with it completely.
  5. I actually think the live album is a cop-out stop-gap for most bands now. They put it out while they take their sweet time getting their next studio album together. They use them to make money, keep their songs on the charts and keep their popularity up. I was kind of shocked to hear you ask, because I feel like everyone and their mom releases a live album these days.
  6. I know it's totally chicky, but it's the only thing I can stomach that early. Plus, while it's available year-round now, I feel like you only ever see it on the shelves starting in the spring, so it totally says warm weather to me.
  7. I don't think you could be more wrong. There isn't anything abandoned downtown, they've turned everything into condos. There are more signs pointing you to Potowatomi then there are signs to anything else in the city and the area around Miller Park has and continues to grow. There are businesses in the valley and indeed basically in the parking lot. Miller Park Way/44th street has been developed since the stadium was built. That entire area is new buildings up and down MPWay. I'm not saying Milwaukee doesn't have it's issues, but I think you're way off base in those complaints. From the things you're complaining about, it sounds like you haven't been here in 5 -10 years.
  8. A kids replica jersey is great, too, because you don't have to button it all the way, or at all. If it's small in the chest, she can wear a tank underneath and just button the bottom couple of buttons.
  9. Just getting my "tailgate pack" together made the baseball season seem more real. It's all packed and ready to go for every weekend. Buying new matches and lighter fluid. Putting the fold up chairs and table in my trunk. The fabulous designated driver ticket lady at home plate. Uecker's voice. Trips to the Klement's and Usinger's factory stores to stock up on grillables. Leinie's Berry Weiss
  10. I'm in the same boat as your wife and I can tell you that I have found lots of things in the kids departments. I have founds LOTS of things at Marshalls - kids XL are meant for "husky" big boys and I find that I like them the best. Without it getting too much like Skinemax in here, I have much the same problem as you're saying she does and though they can end up being a little tight, they fit better than the juniors stuff. Check your PM.
  11. I was up for a job working for this season, so I didn't buy any season pack because I wasn't sure I could use it. Instead, the day single seats went available, we bought about 6 games (mostly all-fan days). Our seats are spectacular in 422 directly behind home plate, row 16, between the two beams so that we're not obstructed. I'm sure this won't make me popular, but I wanted to point out that we bought individual games and got the same great seats for multiple games.
  12. I couldn't get even the FSN homepage to load, much less get to feedback.
  13. Last weekend for the OnDeck event I was about 25 rows back on the first base side and I had on jeans, long sleeves and shoes and I was absolutely freezing. I ended up signing up for the credit card thing just to get the free blanket. Today, I was up in the terrace reserve in short pants and short sleeves and ended up putting on a zip-up hoodie for most of the game as there was a serious breeze to be felt. The wind was a big factor today, I think.
  14. In the past I've been able to go back and get extras, but they have really changed the way they hand them out this season and that's not at all possible. They absolutely cut out any ability to get extras.
  15. Who knew catcher was going to be a power hitting position this year.
  16. And Jim Powell taking a cue from the Reds game talks trash about Molina and says he wouldn't be a clean-up hitter on any other team. Of course, he promptly hits a hr.
  17. Officially skeezed out when Powell and Uecker talk about Uecker watching hotel room porn!!!
  18. Did you Uecker just say "No glove. Bare-handed job" ??? Really?
  19. This is "insert sponsor inning here" homerun inning where a listener had to pick which Brewer would homer and he picked Hart and Ueck basically said "too bad, so sad, we'll have to bat around for that" - and Hart's up! Love it.
  20. Here is what MLB.com comes up with, but it must be runs scored only while playing C: 1. Berra 1112 2. Bench 1001 3. Dickey 930 4. Rodriguez 852 5. Hartnett 847 6. Cochrane 823 7. Posada 744 8. Simmons 736 9. Kendall 706 10. Munson 696 That run Ueck said put him at #12 all-time.
  21. I think that's the general feeling around here. 2006 Opening Day will be my last for a while, just too many drunk young'uns. Yup, 2006 was the last year I went. Hell Im only 25 and I think it gets a little out of hand. I'm not saying I won't go again, I just think it is a little to crazy for me. Between the need to waste a vacation day, the craziness and the price, I can't imagine why you would WANT to go to OD. It's so silly. People could have bought a 9-game pack for what they're paying for OD.
