  1. Before yesterday he hadn't pitched for 4 days. The Cubs announcers were hypothesizing that he was too rested yesterday.
  2. Just killing me Guillen. Why would you PH hit in a 3-1 game when he was leading off? He was cruising right along and could have easily gone 7. Killing my fantasy team too.
  3. Maybe this deserves its own topic (or a new headline). From SI.com.... Brewers' Closer? It'll Be Torres I'm a little surprised, but Ned is going to stick with Torres when Gagne comes back...and Gagne agrees with the decision. I think its for the best until either of them proves a change is needed.
  4. email the booth (carsoup.com, right?). This isn't golf, BA (i don't know what that means, really)
  5. Ha! Rios looked like an idiot there Edit: The ball rolled under the padding of the RF wall and Rios wanted a "time out"---assuming a ground-rule double. Prince kept truckin and the ump never called time.
  6. 2nd level in right. I want to say section 201 or 202. edit: 2nd/3rd row, looks like 201. Video is up on gameday
  7. The clubhouse (or dugout, I guess) looks pretty jovial right now.
  8. I was hoping for Mota to get pulled after the Eckstein double. Hope he pulls through.
  9. I like that Ned's being pro-active here. Oh crap, nevermind Mench is PHing.
  10. I love that a "bad" Sheets still goes 6 innings and allows only 2 runs.
  11. Do they play a whole 'nother 18 if they tie, or does it go hole-to-hole? This is by far the most golf I've watched in my life (over the whole weekend) and its actually entertaining. ESPN360 is quite good. Why can't MLB.TV have this good of quality?
  12. Nate McLouth - .293, 14 HRs, 46 RBI and add in 7 SBs. Who saw that coming?
  13. Dumpster and Sheets should be locks. They've got nearly identical statistics and only Webb, Volquez, and Lincecum have been better IMO (though you could include Hamels).
  14. I'll have to disagree. He's having a nice year defensively, but hasn't done much with the stick for some time now. McCann, Molina (Bengie), Martin, and Soto all deserve it more. Any maybe Doumit, though he hasn't played as much due to injury. Was Braun in at the last "count update?" He and Sheets definitely deserve it. No one else stands out to me as a lock, but Hart is having a very nice season once again.
  15. Don't guys like LaPorta and Gamel have a higher ceiling than Adam Jones? Should they expect to get as much talent back as they gave up for Bedard? I can see why Seattle would want LaPorta as they will be looking to contend next year I'm sure. Maybe a #5-10 prospect + Villanueva (I'd rather lose CVilly than Parra at this point) + another pitching prospect would get it done. Edit: I'd love to extend sheets and have a 2009 rotation of: Sheets Bedard Gallardo Suppan Parra with Bush taking over Cvilly's role in the pen. That's pretty sick
  16. In Play, run(s)....crap....Edmonds, what a joke
  17. Ugh. Aram up late in a game with DLee on 2nd in a 2-1 game. Is there any doubt that he'll go yard?
  18. Me neither. I didn't want to see him start the inning, but keeping it under 120 is good.
  19. So, I'd say Hart has at least hit well enough at the lead off spot to stir up a little "lineup controversy", if you will. I, personally liked Weeks in the leadoff spot until this year. He just isn't hitting enough to justify it though (unless he turns it around obviously). So, for now anyway, I'm all for keeping Hart in the lead off spot. Here's what I'd like to see once Weeks comes back (assuming we have a healthy Hardy). Hart Weeks Braun Fielder Cameron Branyan/Hall Hardy Kendall Pitcher Who knows, maybe hitting in the 2-hole is exactly what Rickie needs (good fastball hitter, and a spot where his speed can still be utilized). Ultimately, I think Hart is best suited to hit 5th, but other teams have had success with an "RBI machine" leading off (see Cubs, Marlins off the top of my head). Any thoughts on this? I don't love Cam hitting 5th, but it breaks up the 2 lefty bats and Cam has hit in the middle of the order for most of his career.
  20. Pretty close. It would've hit the top of the wall, but Bourn made a pretty nice catch
  21. I just lost a $5 dollar bet on that jack from Kendall. Oh well, it was a beauty
  22. Band: Franky The Mobster Album: Refuge of a Scoundrel http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3118/2555219261_28e3eb9847.jpg?v=0 FYI....Franky The Mobster is a Canadian wrestler
  23. Yosted already? In the 1st inning??
