  1. I guess Yost isn't the only one who leaves his starter in too long
  2. Hart sure has been doing that a lot lately.
  3. Yeah it looks like you need a pitching upgrade. Once Granderson comes back you won't even miss Torii.
  4. Yeah Villy looks like a whole new person with his. I'd say Kendall is a close 2nd though.
  5. Ha! That was my question, and about the response I was expecting, though I was very surprised they chose it.
  6. Stupid Aram
  7. I could see both happening. I see a scenario where we get 4-5 runs off him and he still manages to K the crap out of us. Though it might be hard for him to make it through 7 with both of those happening. Man I love it when I'm right

  9. He had to see this coming when the Reds hired Jocketty as a team consultant (or whatever). Krivsky made some alright trades, but some pretty iffy ones too (those deals with the Nats were pretty bad). Getting Volquez for Hamilton looks to be a good deal for both sides so far, though I'd rather have the pitcher, especially playing at that ball park and with the current OF situation in Cincy.
  10. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/04/reds-fire-wayne.html Odd timing indeed
  11. I watched the Cardinals post-game show yesterday on FSN-midwest. They were talking about how the Cubs had won AGAIN and then went on to say (in so many words), "We know it's only April, but it looks like it'll be a two team race in the Central this year between the Cards and the Cubs." Check the standings redbirds, the Brewers are a half game behind you! Don't be salty because everyone picked you to challenge the Pirates for 5th place this year! It is nice to be more under-the-radar this year though. Our red hot start last year really became a spectacle. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=339745#p339745 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?t=10651
  12. Who's left in the pen? Mota and Gagne? Edit: McClung too I suppose
  13. Corey really could've prevented all 3 runs with his glove. I don't know if you all saw it with your shady FSN Wisconsin feed, but I got a good luck at the Glaus double on FSN midwest, and an above average OFer makes that play. Players make mistakes that lose games, but it's a shame that those mistakes were so costly in this one.
  14. Corey really could've helped out his pitcher there. Not a routine play by any means, but I think he should have gotten it.
  15. I think he meant the players on this unnamed pitcher's team don't like him. I've always thought Braun is the type of guy you love to have on your team, but you love to hate him if he isn't.
  16. Meh, don't take too much into my post. It was a vent. I don't truly condone anything I wrote. It was more of a knee jerk response to missing out on the sweep this weekend. I'd have to agree that Maddux has this reputation that he can do no wrong. I think Bill Schroeder adds to this---he seems to talk about him like he's the greatest out there.
  17. It's frustrating that Ned hasn't learned a thing about managing a bullpen over the years. My crazy-vent-solution: Let Maddux make ALL pitching decisions from here on out, inlcuding who to start, when to pull the starter, who to have warming in the pen, who to put in from the pen, etc. Hell, let Skaalen and Simmons make all the line-up, PHing, and bunting decisions too (Ned's made some head scratcher's in that regard this year, too). Just let Ned stay in the dugout and look pretty. Someone has to make the coffee! Ok, vent done, I feel better.
  18. I'm in Champaign, Illinois and felt it for sure. The epicenter was about an hour away from us. We live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building and we were swaying pretty good. It didn't even dawn on me that it could've been an earthquake at the time though.
  19. The video of Prince's bomb is on gameday if you want to watch it.
  20. Yeah anyone besides Hardy, Hall, or Kendall you let them swing away, but I liked the move.
  21. Does Ned have a personal problem with Hart? He was the only one amongst the young guys that had to "earn" his spot in the everyday line-up (everyone else was thrown into the fire, so to say). Hart had a break through year last year and I believe he batted 5th most of the time. So what gives? I know Ned will eventually move Bill Hall down to 6th, but I think it's time already!
  22. Rickie needs to move his feet and get in front of that.
