I think they moved him there before last season since the Brewers front office envisions Rickie Weeks as a franchise second baseman. Also when he got called up he played center in the game he got in, in the Cardinals series.
Everyone is above the mendoza (moeller line) line and i think its nice to get that off our chests. Also billy's double was an absolute shot to right center. Its good to see him square up on one to right.
We definitley have played well enough offensively to at least win 1 game this series. Its just to sad that our defense decided to take the one series we need off.
This is a big bounce back game for the crew. With all the adversity surrounding the team with the injury to YO we need this game to help our confidence.
Gange should never go 4 days in a row. Come on yost you should know this. The guy has injury problem and you risk him by going four days in a row in April. Yost is wearing him out before May even begins.
I dont know if it was just me, but for the first time in about 6 games i thought prince was actually just trying to put a good swing on the ball and not hit it out of the ball park. I think he will go on a tear as well. This time last year Prince had 2 homeruns. and he hit 50.
Idk why after he left last year a lot of fans claimed they hated him and his broadcasts. I for one loved him and i was pushing for a Brady Clark for Darren Sutton trade before last season. Just kidding but i really do miss him even though Brian isnt that bad.
I hope Jenks is recieved well and i know im trying to get tickets and will be there cheering my butt off for him when he gets to the plate. One of my favorite moments that Geoff brought over the years was when he had that diving game saving catch at wrigley last year. I believe it was in the 9th after Jacque Jones robbed some one of an rbi that would have put us in the lead. Jenks came right back and had a superman like catch to keep the scrubs from scoring.
I know this isnt the same thing as what Junior did, but after Bruan hit his homerun on Wednesday the left field bleachers gave him a standing o and braun just pointed to the bleachers like a champ, everyone loved it. Also back in the day of Carlos Lee i got his attention so many times and got some many waves from him. I dont care i love Carlos Lee and was sad to see him go.
When Ben Sheets flirted with the no-no and Vlad broke it up on a curveball in the dirt. The game lasted 17 innings and the Crew won 1-0 against the Angels in 2004. Ben's line was 9.0 innings 1 hit 0 runs 0 BBs 5 K's and most important of all. NO RUN support. It is about time Ben is getting his due and getting some run support in his starts. I believe in 2004 when bens era was 2.41 he had 6 games where the Brewers were shutout and 7 games where they scored 1 run. This is Big Bens Cy Young season and he is going to show the league he is still the ace that led the USA to gold in the 2000 olympics.
Tom Crean is such a sellout. He had it made at MU and had great facilities besides the BC but still had a good life here i just dont understand. Sean Miller from Xaiver is another name being thrown around.
My thoughts and prayers are with Doug, his family, the Diamondbacks, and their beloved fans. Its too bad, I really enjoyed Doug, he was a true player and gave our franchise a few good seasons of his career.
Looks like Tony is the front runner to start opening day according to todays Journal. "Anthony Gwynn's got a hell of a chance of starting on opening day," said Yost, referring to the fact that centerfielder Mike Cameron has to serve a 25-game suspension at the start of the season." - Ned Yost (unambigufied thread title --1992) (added tags --1992)
