  1. How about Wheeler for Gomez? Plus a few pieces in the low minors sounds good. It sounds like the Mets are willing to move some AA prospects like Brandon Nimmo, Gavin Cecchini and Michael Fulmer. All three of em were former first round or comp picks.
  2. Zack Wheeler has started to come up in trade talks. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/baseballinsider/sources-mets-discussed-zack-wheeler-trade-talks-blog-entry-1.2303789
  3. I'd try to avoid trading Gomez and Fiers in the same trade unless they were able to bring back both Daniel Norris & Jeff Hoffman. Ideally, I'd try to package Fiers with K-Rod and Parra to get one of the two aforementioned pitchers. That way you can still trade Gomez for another front line starter to build around. If Toronto wants to turn this into a block buster than I'd trade whatever reliever on our team to bring back Dalton Pompey and Max Pentecost in addition to Norris and Hoffman.
  4. You CAN trade players on the Disabled List. http://www.thecubreporter.com/book/export/html/3506
  5. CF Carlos Gomez & 3B Aramis Ramirez for RHP Zack Wheeler RHP Michael Fulmer OF Brandon Nimmo 1 of 1B Dominic Smith / SS Gavin Cecchini / 3B Jhoan Urena
  6. I'm not opposed to trading for Singleton but there would have to be a lot more for me to include Gomez. I still think Singleton can be a great 1B in the big leagues... His struggles aren't that much different than Anthony Rizzo when he was first brought up the majors. You just gotta trust your scouting department and hope he can make some adjustments.
  7. Here is said proof for the non believers. 8. I posted a proposal on the JSOnline of Odorizzi, Cain, Jeffress and Escobar for Greinke about 2 weeks before the deal went down. FTR I wasn't in favor of doing it as we had no replacement for Escobar.
  9. I'd be thrilled with any of their early picks from a year ago. If we got Scott Blewett, LHP Foster Griffin or C Chase Vallot as the headliner and another throw in would be an excellent haul for Parra.
  10. I'd trade Ramirez for Derek Hill but I'd want more for Lind.
  11. Kevin Plawecki is who I would target in a trade with the Mets. Once we get our catcher prospect we could move Lucroy for a hoard of pitching talent. CF Carlos Gomez for C Kevin Plawecki 1B Dominic Smith RHP Marcos Molina RHP Casey Meisner
  12. I'd trade Lucroy for Sims, Fried and Toussaint as well. The Braves can take whoever they want more between Parra and Davis to fill their OF need.
  13. Ramirez + cash for Casey Meisner and another low level piece.
  14. I'm hoping for Kolton Kendrick at 90.
  15. Throw in Dakota Chalmers and you have the top 4 on my board.
  16. I certainly don't undervalue him. I only mentioned the relievers if it was apart of a bigger deal (saving money for Shields while filling our needs). If I had my way Sardinas would be in the lineup everyday between 2B and SS. I'm just worried about Melvin pulling off a 3 team trade that sends Sardinas to San Diego and Papelbon to Milwaukee.
  17. I wonder if the Brewers would target one of their cheap relievers like Kevin Quackenbush or Nick Vincent? DM & MA might be able to make a run at James Shields with all the money they saved from not signing K-Rod or trading for Papelbon. This is about the time of year Melvin makes his surprise FA signing and the longer Shields remains unsigned the more likely we get involved. Another useful piece would be Corey Spangenburg. He doesn't have much power but brings a lot of speed and some versatility.
  18. I might have missed a couple but this is what I've come up with so far. C Jeff Baker SS Evereth Cabrera LHP Bruce Chen LHP Franklin Morales RP Francisco Rodriguez RP Rafael Soriano Bruce Chen and Franklin Morales both make sense as a 2nd lefty out of the pen / swing man. Franklin Morales in particular might be a valuable piece if used correctly.
  19. It's quite possible that Dontrelle Willis could become our 2nd lefty out of the pen. He was sneaky good against LH bats his last few years in the league. I think he could thrive in a specialist role if given the chance.
  20. 2 lefties are a necessity in the modern day bullpen. The game is all matchup based that you have to have em.
  21. I don't think he can expect much more than that.
  22. I think you forgot Broxton.
  23. I think Alexi Ogando is a perfect addition if healthy. He could be anything from a setup reliever to a long reliever to a #3 starter. I like Joba as a setup reliever as well. I also like Joe Thatcher as a LOOGY. He misses bats and that's all I want my Loogy to do. I don't want them pitching to contact like Joe Beimel.
  24. I trust Peralta more than anyone in our rotation because power arms win in October.
  25. I was begging for this to happen before the deadline.
