  1. Like others, I much prefer to have both Gooden and Salmons on 3 year deals too. Gooden will be 29 and Salmons will be 31 this coming season, giving them 5 year deals is too long and risky. I do like the Maggette and CDR trades, and I'm happy that Salmons is returning. Frankly I don't mind getting Gooden, we do need a decent veteran big to backup Bogut and Gooden is decent, the good FA bigs are way out of our price range. We now have a deep and talented PF and C rotation, I do hope Skiles continue to give Moute and Ersan 20 minutes per game each. I think Gallon could be headed for the D League for some seasoning. I think Ridnour is likely gone. I really hope Hobson steps up in Summer League and show that he can play PG decently, I think he has the skills to do so. Big point guards do exist in the NBA such as his idol Penny Hardaway. With his length, he could have an offensive and defensive advantage over smaller PGs. Our current roster: PG: Jennings / Hobson / 3rd PG SG: Salmons / Delfino / CDR SF: Moute / Maggette / Delfino PF: Gooden / Ersan / Moute C: Bogut / Gooden / Sanders We have more offensive options and a deeper bench from than last season, and if our defense holds up we could be a force to reckon with in the East. Really hope Skiles can get the team to play good defense like last season.
  2. Yes I would, in a heartbeat if this is possible.
  3. I sure wouldn't mind having Hobson as the 3rd PG. I think he has the skills to play PG and with his length advantage he will probably shoot over most PGs guarding him. I think Ridnour will probably cost too much to re-sign and unlikely to return. For me, I still like Sessions and like to have him back as 2nd PG. I think he's a good PG, younger and costs less than Ridnour.
  4. BOOOOOO!!!.... to that freaking linesman. How could he miss it??? the ball cross the line by at least 10 inches. I really hate him right now.
  5. I had a very strange dream last night, I dreamt that the Bucks traded Redd for Al Jefferson and Ramon Sessions. Please note it's just a dream. But if the Wolves are looking to clear some payroll or a spot for Rubio, I wouldn't mind taking Sessions off their hands. Maybe trade a 2011 second round pick for Sessions. With Ridnour a FA and likely to cost more, I think Sessions could make a good replacement backup PG for the Bucks.
  6. I think the Brewers should trade Bush now to open a spot for DD. Bush's velocity is down, and his stuff has become more hittable. Bush is also a FA after this season, could be best to try get something for Bush now.
  7. Of the four picks, the one I like most is Darington Hobson. Sanders, Jordan and Gallon are nice picks too, adds much needed length and size to our roster. I've a feeling Hobson could be our next Moute in the sense that he could contribute right away out of the second round of the draft. I think he can make a decent point guard & shooting guard for the Bucks.
  8. Wow, New Zealand holds Italy to a tie, and the Kiwis could have won it if not for a dubious penalty given to Italy. Major kudos to New Zealand for this incredible result.
  9. Final score 1-1. The second half was much more exciting, the first goal was a beauty. South Africa came close to winning towards the end when a close range shot hit the post. I think Mexico has probably the more skilled team, but their goalie is shaky though.
  10. Wow, Mexico was robbed of a goal by an horrendous outside call by the linesman. There was a South African player standing at the goalline guarding the post, there was no way the Mexican player was offside when he scored the goal. What an incredibly awful mistake by the linesman.
  11. First match of the world cup starting in 10 minutes, South Africa vs Mexico.
  12. Riske's contract was not insured, Hauricourt mentioned it in one of his articles many months ago.
  13. And after the match, they threaten to declare all out war on the other team, the referees and anyone who dare offend them in the name of the "Dear Leader". Yikes, Nani is a big loss for Portugal.
  14. I'd be interested to watch the world cup with Mandarin announcers, at least they are neutral. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Hopefully the package I signed-up for provides that.
  15. Yeah, if Allie is available at 64, I really hope the Brewers pull the trigger and pay him over slot. Covey & Allie, that would be great draft for the Brewers, two 19 year old pitchers with great stuff and potential. With Melvin's awful track record of picking FA pitchers, money would be much better spent signing top pitching prospects instead and it would cost much less too.
  16. Yeah, his stats are really awesome. Hope his curveball is as good as described, if so the Ben Sheets comparisons seem pretty good and we could have a potential ace. Overall, I like the pick a lot.
  17. Both Mayo and Callis have Allie available at 14 in their latest mock, I really hope the Brewers pick Stetson Allie.
  18. Good job by Parra tonite. Manny was sharper and threw harder this game than his last start. His fastball was at 94 - 95mph which was great to see, hope he keeps it up.
  19. Just read Stetson Allie's scouting report and watched his videos. wow a mid to upper 90s fastball, upper 80s slider, decent changeup, easy delivery with no violent finish. Good size, great stuff but lacks control and focus. Allie can also hit with power, which is a plus in the NL. Yo was a pretty good hitter in HS too and has 6 homers in MLB so far. I agree with others that Allie would be a great pick, he has great potential.
  20. "Do you want me to get tarred and feathered?" Macha said yesterday, when asked if Hoffman will return to the closer's role soon.
  21. I bet that idiot would be singing a very different tune about the world cup if United States have one of the best men's soccer team in the world, like the US women's team is for over two decades.
  22. I wonder if anyone has suggest to Hoffman about retiring now the same way Ken Griffey Jr did his. Retiring with a lot of class and respect from everyone, a legacy and with HOF beckoning. This could be a nice way to retire for Hoffman.
  23. Melvin should have signed Garland instead of Davis, both guys were paid the same and have similar deals. Garland was availabe but Melvin chose Davis instead. I think Melvin didn't even contact Garland's agent. The Brewers signed Davis and a week later Garland signed with the Padres.
  24. Dave Bush is not getting Suppan money next season. Bill Castro was fired by Melvin after just 4 months as pitching coach. Castro was dealt a poorer staff than Peterson but he got more out of his pitchers. Castro was made a scapegoat when the real problem was the weak pitching staff and depth that Melvin had assembled last year.
