If I'm not mistaken, Nieves caught Yo's last start so I think it's very likely Nieves starts today.

I wonder if Luis Cruz has signed with another team, if not I hope he returns to Nashville.

2am is the start time for the game here in Singapore.
  4. tigerbrew
The game starts at 2am, I will be watching it on mlb.tv with plenty of beer to keep me company. It's gonna be very enjoyable.

Hi Cappy, I was really hoping you will return, is being the Brewers 6th starter really that bad? You are truly inspirational with the way you've battled back from severe injuries, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and please take care.

Watching the Bucks play their last two games was depressing, it's been a frustrating season so far with all the injuries.

Milwaukee is really not a bad place to stay for Asians. I had numerous Japaneses and Taiwanese school mates when I was studying in Milwaukee. Milwaukee is also very close to Chicago which has a large Asian population. Baseball is like the number one sport in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, I think it's a good idea for the Brewers to scout for talent in these countries.

My apologies, the word has been censored. I honestly didn't think it was that bad of a word, but it's exactly what Sait-y means.
  9. tigerbrew
    Where I come from, Sait-y means +$+$++. I think that's a bad nickname.

I feel really uneasy if Braddock is the closer in 2011, he doesn't seem to have the offspeed stuff that Axford has and Axford throws harder too. If I've to trade one of them, I prefer to trade Braddock instead. But right now the guy I very much like to trade away is Hawkins.

Yes! another Asian Brewer to root for. It's been a long time coming since our last Asian player (Tomo Ohka, 4 years ago). Can't wait for the season to start with our new and improved pitching staff.

I think Maldonado has a good shot at the backup catcher spot, he seems to be much better than Kottaras defensively especially in throwing out base runners. But he's the same age as Lucroy which means he's young, I don't know if that will work against him in the selection process. I also think Luis Cruz has a good shot of making the team as insurance if Betancourt really suck defensively. I'm hoping Cappy returns to the Brewers, if he doesn't and if there are no new additions, my 25 man roster will probably look like this: C-Lucroy, Maldonado IF- Fielder, Weeks, Betancourt, McGhee, Counsell, Cruz OF- Hart, Gomez, Braun, Dickerson, Gamel SP- Greinke, Gallardo, Wolf, Marcum, Narveson RP- Axford, Braddock, Loe, Parra, Hawkins, McClendon, Egan

“I’d say the average person wouldn’t eat a Chipotle burrito and still do his running.. full speed.. like me. That’s why they call me special” “I just wanted to make this clear: I can’t live without baseball…It’s to the point where it caused problems with my girlfriend because she knows baseball is more important than her. I say, ‘Hey, I’m sorry. I love the game that much. You’re not even close to being No. 1 — that’s how much I love baseball. I couldn’t live without it.” Haha... those two quotes made me LOL

I wonder if Upton can still play SS and 2B, if so I'm definitely interested in him. We can slot Upton as starting SS and Betancourt to the bench. Upton is still young and will be under team control for 2 years at least. Edit: Our offense at SS will be upgraded with Upton.

Greinke, Yo, Marcum, Wolf, Narveson and a pretty good bullpen with Weeks, Hart, Braun, Prince and McGehee in offense. I'm definitely renewing my annual MLBTV subscription to watch the Brewers win the NL central in 2011, it's gonna be a really exciting and enjoyable season can't wait.

Wow, if this is true I think it's a pretty good deal for the Brewers. We get a bona fide (young) Ace and still get to keep most of top young pitching. I dare say we will be contenders in 2011. I really hope this deal is true.
  17. tigerbrew
Absolutely agree, please Doug Melvin go get Greinke!

I say trade 'em all. Fielder, Hart, Bush, Hoffman, Coffey, Capuano, Villanueva, Hawkins, Riske, Edmonds, Counsell, Inglett.Think I'd look to trade McGehee too, he's been awful defensively at 3B. I hope McGehee isn't the Brewers starting 3B next season.

I'd be willing to improve the offer to CDR, Jackson and next year's top 15 protected 1st round pick, if Flynn is available. Heard today that Ridnour has agreed to sign with the Wolves.
  20. tigerbrew
If Flynn is available for cheap, I really hope the Bucks pursue him. The Bucks need a backup point guard and I can see Flynn running with Jennings too. I wouldn't mind offering CDR, Jackson and next year's better 2nd round pick for Flynn . Watched the Bucks summer league game tonite and came away very impressed with Larry Sanders. I think Sanders is going to contribute more than expected for Bucks this season especially defensively, I'm pretty excited about his potential with more experience, coaching and muscle.

First there was Tim Salmon, now there is Mike Trout. The Angels love their Fish outfielders, maybe the next time they may draft an outfielder named Andy Angelfish or Mark Mackerel.

The thing I like about the Holland vs Spain final is that there will be a first time world cup winner. The last newbie winner was France in 1998 held in France. The list of the world cup winners is very short, Uruguay, Italy, Germany, Brazil, England, Argentina and France, it's nice to have a new winner. This final will also be the first time an European country wins the world cup outside of Europe. I will be watching the final on a 3D big screen, first time watching soccer in 3D, hope it's great.

The 2004 Detroit Pistons didn't really have any superstars yet they beat a Lakers team loaded with superstars quite easily for the championship. It is possible to win the championship without a superstar. I think Hammond is recreating that Pistons championship formula in Milwaukee.
  24. tigerbrew
    Wow, Germany trashed Argentina 4-0.
  25. tigerbrew
Totally agree with you on this.
