  1. Just watched the game, very tough luck for Estrada. The umpire was squeezing Estrada and is freaking blind. Uggla did not touch the plate at all and should have been out! The umpire had a good view, how could he missed it? Escobar's throws to the plate were awful. This umpire is about the worst I've ever watched, Estrada doesn't deserve the 4 runs charged against him in this game,
  2. Narveson looking good so far, hope he can get through at least 6 innings today.
  3. Is Hart going to hit 50 homers this season? At the rate he's hitting that could very well be. Hart leads the NL in homers, Wow.
  4. Cappy replacing Parra in the rotation sounds good to me too, Parra seems to perform better as a reliever.
  5. The umpire was generous with Suppan in yesterday's game. He had given Suppan several outside pitches off the plate that strikeout a couple of batters or things would have been a lot worse for Suppan. Suppan's pitches were mostly in the low 80s yesterday. I don't get what's wrong with guys like Estrada on the roster? He has decent stuff similar to Carlos V's and is not the worst pitcher in the staff. He has only pitched 10.1 innings so far with 12 Ks and 11 hits, too soon to judge why not give him more time and see how he does.
  6. This Nike World Cup commerical is very funny.
  7. Nice win, hope they get a sweep tomorrow. Great job by the bullpen today, tough luck for Estrada though. Axford should absolutely remain as the closer.
  8. This inning should be over 2 batters ago, Estrada getting killed by the defense.
  9. Welcome back Cappy! But I hope they don't send Estrada down, I think Estrada can help the team more than guys like Suppan, Vargas or Hoffman.
  10. Just finished watching the game. Yo is simply awesome, his ERA has dipped to 2.78 and he's on pace for another 200K season. Really hope Yo can maintain the low walks like what he did in this game, it would help get him deeper into games. He's only 24 years old and is developing very nicely into a solid ace.
  11. I think rooting for North Korea to win is just wrong after what they did to South Korea this year.
  12. I agree, England's defense is shaky and so is their goalkeeping, it's been like that for many years. I think that may be why they hired Capello, to bring the Italian style of stingy defense to England's play.
  13. Marco Estrada was claimed off waivers from the Nationals under the strong recommendation of Sounds pitching coach Rich Gale. (also see this link). Gale was Estrada's pitching coach in Syracuse last year and really liked Marco's ability. I think credit should go to Gale on Estrada and Gale has also done a great job with the Sounds pitching staff.
  14. I've just paid for the complete World Cup coverage in HD and I'm seriously thinking of taking a month's leave to watch every World Cup match and every Brewers game. That would be a dream come through if my colleagues and my wife would let me.
  15. I would like to see Cappy promoted to the Brewers this week. Have Cappy pitch out of the bullpen first and see how he does. I think the addition of Cappy will improve our pitching staff.
  16. I hope Axford remains the closer all season. He has great stuff and his 97mph fastball could be even more useful closing out games. Axford just has to maintain his command and poise that we have seen in his last few games and he will be a productive closer for us.
  17. Great to watch more power pitching from the bullpen with Braddock pitching 95mph from the left and Axford pitching 97mph from the right. I really hope Axford remains the closer all season, he has great stuff and the best fastball in the staff. Really enjoyed watching him strikeout Morneau yesterday, Axford blew his 96mph fastball by thrice in the zone and Morneau couldn't catch up and whiffed. I would like to see Parra throw harder more often, he has the ability to get it up to 95mph too and it could help setup his offspeed pitches. I really hope Manny attacks the zone more often with 95mph fastballs and be more efficient in his pitches. Estrada was efficient and did a good job attacking the zone with his changeup and 92mph fastball. 44 pitches / 32 strikes over 3 innings is quite good especially for a rotation like ours, I hope Estrada remains a starter. The new guys are giving us hope that our pitching will improve going forward.
  18. This is not funny, it sounds rather insulting and condescending, not to mention over-exaggerating.
  19. Hoffman's stuff is not good, 85 mph fastballs leaves very little margin for error and doesn't really help setup his changeup. It's too risky to send Hoffman to the mound anymore.
  20. It's now 4am here, I wasted my sleeptime to watch Hoffman blow it again. Now I'm too pissed to sleep, damn you Hoffman.
  21. I said this here few weeks ago and I say this again, Hoffman is done, he should not be closer anymore. I think Hoffman is a waste of a roster spot, DFA him.
  22. Please Hoffman don't blow this, this team needs a win real bad.
  23. Marco hates walks and challenge hitters, I can respect that. He followed that homer with a K to Gomes in 3 pitches, I like that. Estrada is efficient.
