  1. So another start for Cappy? I suppose they have to. I'd like to see Loe get a start. That'd be hard to fit in.
  2. Start working on that player of the month for this month Corey. Uh-oh, 2 strikes. Here comes junk.
  3. Here is another site. LD rate is 11 there. You'd think they'd use the same raw data.
  4. It didn't look that way to me. Maybe they'll have a video of it.
  5. Did you think he could have caught it? It didn't look that way to me.
  6. I like BA. I'm kind of worn out on Bill. But color guys seem to keep their jobs for life, so...
  7. His BABIP is .442, so the numbers will almost certainly slide some no matter where he goes. Southern League is supposed to be more of a pitcher's league than the PCL if I'm not mistaken, so they may view it as more of a challenge. Maybe Schafer isn't far from returning or maybe they see him as a possible call-up this season and don't want to move him twice. Its also more of a complete team and they're big on that whole team unity thing. The Sounds are pretty surprising to me.
  8. “I had the slider going for me, (Wisconsin) is a club that struggles with the breaking pitches a little bit, so we tried to keep them off-balance. We got some big outs in big situations.” -pitcher Jerry Sullivan “He had two mistakes (a solo home run to Khris Davis and an RBI single to Gennett) that he threw, both fastballs." - Tincap manager Probably not much different than any other club, but has a deja vu all over again feel when I read it.
  9. Dave Bush is the same. I'm sick of hearing about the stupid line drive.
  10. I wonder if over time the shine will come off of Jack Z's reputation. I also wonder if success rate by scouts is tracked anywhere but in the backrooms of the big club. Having said that, I still think its a good idea to take shots with high upside prospects.
  11. Yeah, they never seem to give the error to the 1st baseman on those bounced throws, but you've got a point. Good to see another pitcher on track.
  12. Casey and Corey leading the team in HRs. Sure didn't see that coming. And go George! Looks like we get good Narvy today. Personally, I think caps with contrasting brims look much better. i'll pass on this one though.
  13. Sun Life Financial is why. I'm sure people in that region are more familiar with the company. The Brewers play at Miller Park.
  14. What data? UZR is pretty much of a morphing crapshoot. For whatever reason you hear people talk about needing 3 years worth of data, but it used to be you needed a career's worth of data and it still might not be accurate. My eyes say Casey is above average. That seems to be universal outside of a handful of Gamel fans. Gamel's scouting reports are almost universally grim. You've got Money saying he could be okay and who else? Garth Iorg? I think he has the ability, but to say that today he is above average - I think that's a tough sell.
  15. Ugh, the myth of being "jerked around." McGehee OPSing around .880 or if you're elitist a wOBA of .380 and playing above average defense. I believe Mat can play 3B, but its not a certainty.
  16. Good Rickie is awesome, bad Rickie is pretty bad. I'm ready for the Weeks era to end. Unfortunately, I don't think 2nd baseman are all that hot of a commodity. So many people want to blow up the roster. Weeks is definitely one you want to ship out if you move Prince or ship McGehee/Hart (not that that will happen).
  17. The hole in his swing is up and in. I'd like to think that Sveum could work with him and close it. The Twins are short of pitching. They don't even have a dominant starter now. They're not going to move one for Gamel or McGehee. People who think that players can't improve past a certain age have been predicting a moderate decline for McGehee, but you see it as precipitous. I think there's a chance Hart does ok. I don't see him in Milwaukee for very long though.
  18. If Fielder is going to be moved regardless if the return is low, its an obvious white flag. You might as well move Weeks, Hart, Parra and several others before the deadline. They'd also have to plan for a lower future payroll as the walk up this year would crater and next year's season tickets would go way down.
